In keeping with its nature theme, Crains Run Nature Park does not have electricity or permanent restrooms. However, a portable restroom is located at the south end of the park, just a short walk from the north shelter. Two paved parking lots provide ample parking space for visitors. Additionally, the park is adjacent to a restored canal lock, known as Sunfish Lock, which was built in 1829 as part of the Miami-Erie Canal system and restored by Miami Township in 1990.
