Reviews of Bear's Den
"Great place to go hang out. There's old and young patrons here. Darts and pool if you like. Karaoke is fun."
"I was hate crimed at the bears den for having my shirt unbuttoned. The workers proceeded to follow me around and talk about me after I buttoned my shirt."
"Never in my life have I been treated so badly. I am a 32 year old who was visiting her hometown from Florida this weekend for a wedding. I was a little sleepy after the wedding and the guy i had just met was being nice giving me a neck massage at the bar (so yes the massage was effecting the look on my face too). If the bartender was better at his job maybe he would've noticed that.. The bartender took one look at me and exclaimed "I am not serving her shes falling asleep". I hardly even drank that much at the wedding and my family really wanted me to come out after to the Tiffin bars cause I had never been. Although I had a long day I came along trying to not be an old grandma and have a little fun. I had not even had one interaction or a single drink yet here! I was so confused. I work at a bar and have never seen a bartender refuse to serve someone who was behaving perfectly just a little tired from the wedding. I told my cousin what the bartender said and she said they were just being jerks and they can get like that sometimes. So she bought me a drink and told me to come over to the table where they were at. I reluctantly agreed because I am a rule follower. I sat there a little sad after how he treated me and he sent out another guy.....a total jerk that treated us like dog poop!! He came over extremely aggressively and said VERY LOUDLY AND meanly SHES CUT OFF!!! Took my drink and crushed it. My mom who is 51 saw what happened and went into momma bear mode and walked up to that guy and said excuse me what the heck is going on ? And stood up for me. He then crushed her expensive drink and he started pushing my mom- he went chest to chest with her and acted like a total tool bag. I feel bad for any woman he is with because he obviously seemed like he is abusive. I tried to split them up and said I am calling the cops because of the way he was treating my mom. I know what to do when a situation like that happens because I've managed restaurants and bars. So of course they stole my idea and said they were going to call them instead trying to have the upper hand. Although I wanted to call the cops myself because they would have obviously seen the way they were treating us. More bouncers came to shove us out very rudely. Like what????! We were a 32 year old and 51 woman at a stupid college bar full of wayyyy more drunk people than us!!!! I was barely tipsy. The cops came and I calmly explained everything that happened and the cop completely understood. Absolutely no one wanted to hear us explain anything and had zero patience inside the bar. I felt like we were being treated like 15 year olds and it was the complete opposite of the small town bar feel that I wanted to experience after flying in to celebrate a wedding. Just awful. That staff should be fired. Oh also learn how to do your job and use your words!! Your staff wouldn't last a single day in any other establishment other than a small town bar with those attitudes. There are much better ways to make a decision to kick someone out. You are not the police so don't act that way! First ask nicely to leave, then sternly, and only THEN you should make them leave if none of that works. Use your words not your hands!"
"I've been going to this bar for over 40 years and it still retains the same fun vibe inside but now has a karaoke room and a beautiful outside area. Bear himself can still be found bartending. Always a good time."
"My group only came to this bar because we were not ready to call it a night. This re iew is for atmosphere and bar staff. This bar is one of two bars in town open late during the week. I would best describe this bar as a typical college bar as the night got later. Staff was pleasant."
