"Yanke Bionics is a completely unethical place to purchase any type of orthotic. I went to their Parma location to order a custom brace for my left ankle. They did not follow directions on the Rx from the doctor nor did they ever make the brace. I called twice to find out what was going on. I was told they needed medical records and never received them. I followed up with my physician's office and the records were sent immediately. The second call to YB, Angel, who was very rude and disrespectful, actually hung up on me when I requested to have the order cancelled and my money returned to my credit card. This is not the way to treat patients. I'm sure Yanke Bionics has a mission statement. It probably does not mention being rude and nasty to patients. It doesn't say to interrupt the patient when they are explaining the situation. It doesn't say to lie. Angel should not be working with patients. She should be working in another area where she does not deal with the public. She has absolutely no customer service abilities. If possible, Yanke Bionics should get no stars for this Google Review. DO NO USE YANKE BIONICS!!!!!"
"When I first called North Coast Orthotics (now Yanke Bionics) to set up my appointment, they said they were an in-network provider for my Medicare advantage plan and that the orthotics should be covered but later changed their story, during my appointment, to say Medicare only covers special "soft" orthotics for diabetics but not those used for better support of the feet and ankles. If I wanted the diabetic orthotics, I needed to get a doctor's order and have it signed by both my PCP, as well as my orthopedic specialist. If I wanted the supportive orthotics, I would have to pay the cash price of $430 or suffer. On the day of my appointment, the parking lot was suspiciously empty when I arrived. I also could not see anyone moving around inside until I opened the inside door to their office. The staff was friendly but did not seem busy. After my appointment, I asked them to submit my bill to my Medicare advantage plan anyway, just so I could see if they would pay anything on the orthotics or not. I was told several times during the next few weeks that my bill had been submitted, but my Medicare advantage plan never received it. After a month of waiting and still not showing anything was received, I called Yanke Bionics to let them know my claim had not been received and asked them to resend it. They checked on their end and said it hadn't gone through electronically for some reason, even though they claimed to have submitted it a month prior but said they would be sure to resubmit it. A couple of days later, I received a call from Yanke Bionics saying that their billing office had never submitted the claim, nor would they be submitting it, because Medicare considers it "self-pay," as Medicare routinely does not cover custom orthotics so, in order for them to get paid, they have to collect directly from the patient. Otherwise, Medicare rejects the claim and shows I would not be responsible for the balance. The only receipt they gave me was a small one that looked like a cash register receipt, rather than a professional receipt. The orthotics seem to be decent. I just wish they had been up front with me about the cost prior to making my appointment."
