"She didn’t ask very many questions or try to understand at a deeper level. Spent most of the first session staring blankly at me. It was unnerving. She had already been seeing my husband for a while at this point, so I’m going to have to assume she had preconceived notions about me. She said, “I’m not going to debate you” when I refused to go get antidepressants. I was trying to explain my history. Seemed to take what I said as an argument and spent the whole second and final session arguing with me that I hadn’t given my relationship with my estranged father enough effort while simultaneously refusing to believe what I was telling her about it. She expressed that the reason she was pushing so hard was because she had other clients who were estranged from their children. I’m sorry, but instantly assuming that I need to put more effort in without even listening to the history was pretty insane. It’s like she assumed I was exaggerating from the start. It was probably a bad idea to try and see her since my husband had been established as her client. I wanted some help with that relationship, but it was never going to work with the way she negatively perceived me."

"My husband and I went to her cuz we were about to enter a difficult season, and figured it would be smart to have a neutral third party there in case things got rough. This lady was convinced that I cayfished my husband, because I'm an immigrant. She even asked him directly. We went to 3 sessions and stopped when she asked us if we thought the marriage was worth salvaging. It wasn't broken to begin with. It sounded like she was suggesting divorce! I'm scared to think what she would tell people who were actually in difficulty."
