"I went to him for birth control, Nexplanon to be exact. He was condescending about my tattoos, imposing his opinions about my tattoos (telling me he doesn’t like them on anyone) and it had nothing to do with him inserting the birth control on my arm. Also his nurse told me I must have a “high pain tolerance” for having multiple tattoos and getting birth control. As a Black woman, I felt uncomfortable and did not appreciate them imposing their opinions on my body and pushing the medical myth that black people don’t experience pain like everyone else, that we have high pain tolerances. Just give me my birth control and move on."
