"I will never be coming back to Dr Blackmon ever again and will be making sure no one I know will see her. At my first appt with her, she agreed with my potential diagnoses of endometriosis and offered to do an exploratory lap to try to confirm. She assured me that my history and pain was valid and pointed to Endo. I told her that I would need a little time to get my finances in place and be sure that my partner was ok with this. At the time, we were planning to try to get pregnant soon. But I told her I'd have an answer at my next appt. Well when I told her at this last appt that I would like to move forward with the lap, she back tracked. She said she wasn't comfortable moving forward now. Suddenly my history, that she determined was indicative of Endo, didn't mean anything. She said that since my pain isn't isolated to my period that it can't be Endo. She said that the excruciating episode of pain I had a couple months ago sounded like SPASM, like a leg cramp. This pain was that of my entire female anatomy being pan fried inside of my body for over an hour and she called it a spasm. I felt completely invalidated. When I reminded her that she offered the surgery and I was accepting the offer, she said that she offered it because I was planning on getting pregnant. She planned to really only check to be sure my tubes were clear and I could get pregnant. Why do I need to be trying to get pregnant to have surgery? Why is my pain invalid now? She lied to me. She didn't sympathize. And she was very careless with my exam. She knew I'm sensitive to exams like this but she didn't comfort me at all even though I was whimpering in pain. I left that appointment and screamed in my car. She lied to me and made me feel like I was only going to get care of i was going to carry my partner's child. I will never come back."
