"Very misleading. When you or a medical facility calls ahead of time to see what is covered and what you are responsible for out of pocket and you are told a certain amount, don't trust it. Your out of pocket will be quadruple that amount. When you call to question why they did not fulfill what they quoted, they blame it on coding. I asked if they worked with med facility to make it right for paying insured they say no. This leaves you going back and forth with ins and medical facility with no resolution. If something changes and they make it right this time, I will leave a better review but this is not the first time. I am paying so much out of pocket plus the high premium"

"There's a reason nobody has heard of this company. Benefits are difficult to navigate, website looks like it's from 1982, slow turnaround on EOBs. We've had to pay more out of pocket because the billing process is so complicated."

"I strongly recommend going with a different insurance company. Bywater has been a nightmare to deal with. I'm clumsy and get hurt often and this insurance keeps denying claims making me fill out a letter every time stating I wasn't in an accident. They state this is "normal" but I've never had this issue with any insurance company before this one. They also don't know how to process claims. For example, they left me a $500 copay stating my X-ray taken at the hospital was for an outpatient hospital stay. They made me go through an entire appeal process to let them know I was not IN the hospital but referred there by my PCP simply to get an X-ray. They then left my ultrasound copay instead. I then had to explain that an ultrasound is NOT an X-ray but that an X-ray falls under radiology which has a different copay amount. The fact I had to explain that to them was completely ridiculous. I could go on but I will suffice it to say to not use this company. They don't know what they are doing."
