"I was recently in the ER this week, the staff was amazing and very professional. DR Keane was awesome and answered all of the questions that I had and stuck to his word that I would start feeling better this week. Thank you!"
"Don't call the patient advocate. He could care less and just stick up for his people even when they are 100% wrong! He had a terrible tone and attitude. He should not be working with patient concerns. I see why everyone tells me not to go to the Fort Wayne VA. I've heard the stories and now Ican say they are 100% correct!"
"I give their speciality clinics an A. I give their radiology and labs an A. I give the ER a D and the the PACT a D (because not all the providers are bad). The speciality clinics have some of the best providers in this part of Indiana. Radiology is really fast and efficient. The lab tech's have more skill and experience than I have seen at Parkview or Lutheran. They also can get standard results to your provider faster. My view of the ER is that there are some good providers, management and staff there. ER providers float around a lot and it is a stressful and even traumatic job. A lot of these doctors have gotten mentally exhausted and physically exhausted. That whole picture has some of them punting, which is not rare in emergency medicine. Punting is using general terms medical to avoid care or liability because of your time constraints, or laziness. The PACT has some very dedicated providers who are good. However, the way punting occurs is not normal at this level of outpatient clinic. Not all providers do it, but some do and the way multiple providers fog, and disperse care almost seems directed. It is a way to evade care, liability and sometimes to gaslight. You can't give a number for care with something vague and punting is always a sign of providers to avoid. It's just non-specific as any symptoms it's used for. It just projects away from the problem because it will take time and resources to unpack. I don't now it all and some people may have different experiences. I just have been here, 5 other VAs, my family foundation supports medicine, and have friends and family who are physicians. Talk to other veterans and share."
"The majority of the staff are there for the right reasons. Received good care overall. Self advocacy is always important in any setting"
"The staff at the Fort Wayne VA Outpatient Annex is probably the most helpful group of people that I have worked with in terms of the VA. They truly care about helping Veterans get access to care and have consistently gone above and beyond. Great team of people in Community Care!"
