"They changed us from a nice little cottage to a hotel type environment without making an effort to call. Just sent an email We spent time picking out what we wanted and had friend staying NG in the true man annex which was the original booking They told us it was an upgrade because it had oxen view access to the room was limited through a slow elevator and had to go through the back because the door fob wasn’t working nice dumpsters! I travel and specifically wanted away from hotel type atmosphere and elevators. The place we wanted was empty all week. We couldn’t find the pool wwwhich had no one there and the overpowering chlorine had my eyes burning for a couple of days I could go on and win tv didn’t work and they made no effort to help us until Monday . It rates a 2 because If thats what we wanted it would have been ok. Never with Compass again. Mike"

"This is the first time I dealt with this realty company. We have stayed at Queen Emma under different ownership in the past. It's a fantastic property with a great outside space to relax and cool off with the pool or take advantage of the outdoor dining space. Plenty of room. I do have to say this time, though, I felt the property declined a tad under Compass Realty's watch with filthy carpeting upstairs which I took a video of and sent to them. I wouldn't walk on it barefoot! I expected more for the $$$ spent to rent for a week. Cleanliness is most important and it doesn't take much to shampoo the carpet. The contract states "Compass agrees to provide the Premises in clean condition." They failed in that area with the filthiness of the carpeting. Communication with Compass Realty was great before arrival, but once there, I contacted them for a ironing board that was to be provided during the stay. I had to follow up and remind them about the ironing board and then received a small countertop one with the promise of a full size one to be delivered. I gave up communicating when days passed without the full ironing board being delivered. Upon departure, I sent a video of the filthy carpet and also told Compass I found a set of car keys. No response or acknowledgement from them. I have emailed, texted and called Compass. Nothing. My last communication upon arriving home was a phone call to inquire if and when I will receive the Damage Waiver fee since no there was no damage to the property. Again, lack of response to communication. Overall, I love the property but wish it was cleaned properly for our stay and that Compass Realty would respond to communications. Ignoring a paying client does not sit well with me. Even though I love Queen Emma, I would think twice about going through this realty company."

"We stayed at the Salty Mermaid last week and had a fantastic experience. We did have a few communication issues upon arrival, but we crossed paths with Stacy while we were waiting for keys to our rental. She went above and beyond to make sure we got settled into our rental and was very helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend and we will definitely use Compass Realty again!!"

"We rented Unit 192 in the Shipyard in Truman Annex for two weeks. In the past we have stayed all over KW via a number of agencies. On our first day in the unit we realized that the clothes washer was not functioning. Since it was a weekend we waited until Monday, 6/20/21 to call Compass. They gave us a series of stories. The first was to check with the housekeeper and if she/he could not address the issue a technician would be called. We were to call back at noon on Monday if we had not heard from them. We then called and was transferred to another agent who told my wife that they had known about the issue before we moved in. WOW! We now have a stack of clothes that need washed and not many clean clothes remaining since we travel lightly when staying in a unit with laundry facilities. The unit itself is fine but my COMPASS will lead me to another agency next year. My frustration is centered on the fact that Compass knew of the issue before we moved in. I would strongly suggested renting from another agency which is what I will tell 8 friends traveling here soon."

"I signed a contract with Compass Realty on 3/9/2018 for the month of February 2019. I paid the required $4480. and did not give it another thought. Today I received an email from Compass telling me that the rent is $500. more than my contract price. The reason given was that Feb. is only 28 days. I cannot make any sense of this and they added that it is illegal to rent for less than a month. Since February is the middle month of the winter season, I would assume that the broker would know that February only has 28 days. I have rented in Key West for 10 years and have never had this happen to me before. i do have to say that this is my first time to deal with Compass Realty."
