"We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Captain’s House in Hernando Beach. My wife and I knew nothing about Hernando Beach until we arrived to check in to the Captain’s House. We were greeted by Chris and Edith and made us feel more like family than guests. Gave us directions to the house and where we could find a place to eat. The hotel was right on the waterfront and they took the time to show us the rooms. Upon arriving at the Captain’s house which is a short drive from the hotel, we were pleasantly impressed with how beautiful the house looked from the road. We stayed in the Queen’s room and it was beautifully decorated and quite large. We had the run of the house because we were the only guests. We settled in and started to go outside when we were greeted by Yann who happened to be the owner who lives on the second floor of the house. He gave us a tour of the house and then took us outside which is spectacular. Right on the water and the yard is beautiful. Sculptures everywhere mixed in with Mermaids and funny signs and yard games. Yann took us to the game room outside and showed us how to turn on lights, fans and music. Fantastic area to relax and have fun. He took the time to sit and talk to us and tell us about himself and the history of Hernando Beach. The next day we were supposed to go out for a pontoon boat ride for the day which was included with our stay ( you have to rent boat from marina) but weather conditions were not ideal. The boat was like new and docked at the house. Doesn’t get better than walking out door and getting on your boat. We had a wonderful time staying at the Captain’s house and in Hernando Beach and would highly recommend staying here if you want to get away and relax for a few days. Found out about this piece of paradise in the Villages Daily Sun and was surprised it’s just a short drive from our home in the Villages. We are already looking forward to returning and going for our boat ride. Thanks to Yann and all his staff for making our trip so wonderful and we look forward to seeing you again soon."

"I was fortunate enough to be able to experience this amazing property with my family that have a property a block away that were devastated by the Hurricane. Amazingly the Captains House seemed to be untouched. I have lived in Brooksville for the last 11years and always thought the Captains House was a museum. Wow, what a property. I am already planning to have a family reunion at this property. It is a shared facility with the hosts living on the top floor and I believe a total of 3 other attached apartments with a shared kitchen for the Guests. However, this place is huge with numerous seating areas, BBQ, Horsehoe pits, Kayaks, Fishing Equipment, Tiki Bar with fans, TV, and seating for at least 25, Pool in a Boat, Fantastic walkways with the Captains whimsical artifacts speckled throughout this Gem. The interior of our apartment was just as amazing, immaculate, very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, patio with enough seating for another 20 people. This is the kind of place you do not want to leave and should be shared with loved ones. Thank you Captain for building this Amazing Property and thank you Kipp, Tracy, and John for sharing this with me."

"Great place to stay for a getaway for the week with family. Would love to go back in the winter. We had room 101. The bed was way too soft and sinking in the middle. Loved the decorations and color scheme of the house. The only other complaints I would have is that wish they had some more comfortable chairs downstairs. The air conditioning in our room and downstairs died during the night, so we did not get any sleep. Staff was nice, not much they could do I guess. I do hope they fix bed for the next guests."

"Stayed here with some family and a group of friends. Fantastic place to stay, each room is excellent and unique. The garden and tiki hut are very cool with their decor and just nice to hang out. Even with our big group the house was big enough to find places to be alone if needed also. I can't recommend The Captain's House more, we loved it and will be back."

"I stayed here last December with my 2 sisters and my sisters mom(she booked the captain's house). I absolutely loved staying here. I loved everything about the house and outside the house. The deck was so nice and I loved sitting outside watching the sunset. The oasis(where the electric/gas fire place was) was amazing I sat out there for hours. The walk way around the house was beautiful. The rooms were nice and the kitchen. My older sister enjoyed the pool. Since then I've been wanting to come back. The owners are very nice as well. If anyone has a chance to stay here it won't disspoint. If I could give it 100 stars I would."
