"Workers were polite and respectful ❤"
"Not sure what the bad reviews of about this place are for. First of all, this is Golden Gate, not the grand villas on Gulf Shore Blvd or any of the quarter million dollar HOA communities in the area. Expectations should be lowered unless you're willing to pay 4 times the rent of Oaks at Naples. There aren't any security gates that require passwords or secret handshakes with guards in a little toll booth. There isn't any valet parking in a temperature controlled parking garage. And there sure isn't a towel boy standing by the pool waiting to hand you a 900 count Egyptian cotton towel that was steamed to a perfect 120 degrees using natural spring water to eliminate the impurities of cheap beach towels. The Oaks at Naples is a surprisingly affordable apartment complex in the midst of several upgrades. In the 2 weeks that I've been here, the lighting in the hallways have been updated to LED's instead of dingy flickering tubes. It was obvious the next day as to the difference in the halls. Security locks have been installed in all the doors, and each outer door has a camera to added protection. Being on the edge of Green Blvd and Collier helps with visibility instead of being tucked back into the trees in a secluded area like the other complexes down the road. I've seen some of those complexes; they must have a lenient pet policy because of all the turkey vultures gathered by the overflowing dumpsters in their dark parking lots.Keeps the rats away, I guess. The lighting in this parking lot is quite bright at night, so I feel my vehicle is as safe as could be for the area, and I haven't seen any overflowing regular or recycling receptacles, or turkey vultures. Frogs, yes, but not vultures. As for the size of this one bedroom apartment, that was the ultimate selling point for the money. Anything in Fort Myers in the same range or higher is at least 25-40% smaller. This is by far one of the larger one bedrooms I've ever rented. The bathroom is a little on the small side, but it's a room for doing your business, not entertaining. It is a little dated; the cabinets would use some retooling, but the marble countertops are nice. Mine even had a brand new refrigerator and dishwasher. No more wondering what the mystery stain is in the freezer, or wondering why the dish rack are rusted out. Tile floor throughout is easy to clean. No problems with the two patio slider doors either, although they are the only source for windows in the apartment. Not a complaint. As for Angie, well, I don't hold it against her that she's from the upper Midwest. So am I. I found her quick to respond to my emails prior to signing a lease, and answered all of my questions thoroughly. She kept in touch as I made my move to Florida to let me know the status of my lease approvals, even letting me know ahead of time about a potential issue with my first choice of residence. By the time I arrived, everything was taken care of. She is quite knowledgeable and professional, but also very friendly (that's the midwest thing). I know nothing of the actual property company that she works for, but she represents it well. All paperwork was easy to understand, including information regarding the online portal for maintenance and bill payment. Even after moving in, texts from the office regarding change of hours, maintenance, etc., are timely and to the point. It's a good way to keep in touch with the residents. Maintenance is quite visible. Each morning I see him canvassing the grounds for rubbish and obstructions. A casual conversation with him in the parking lot over a trivial maintenance issue was completed promptly and politely, again with pre-work and post work phone calls to let me know the progress of the issue and to check on my satisfaction. He is also hard at work rehabbing the vacant apartments for new tenants. He is just as polite and upbeat as Angie. Not sure if the trees are oaks, but I'll let that slide."
"My personal experience has been good and satisfactory. The new management manager which is Angie has communicated all the changes to me in an attentive and respectful way. I would like to emphasize that she always goes further to help the tenant, for example, Angie translates the writings in Spanish for those tenants who do not communicate in English. All notifications are given in advance and explaining what the notification is for. On my and my husband's part, we feel very comfortable knowing that the water bill is no longer as expensive as when the previous administration was. The water bill is now more economical and correct. I want to highlight the beautiful job that Angie and her husband have done on the property. Everything is cleaner, tidy, the green lawn and carefully pruned, the work of the pool is awsome. The property has had an impressive change. After Angie and her husband arrived, in less than a year there have been very positive changes. The property looks impeccable and they are giving their best to make this possible. Now there is an atmosphere of respect, tranquility and honesty that previously did not exist with the old administration. Thank you Angie and her husband who works non-stop in maintenance. Very good work . Thank you for doing the right thing in the right way. Good job guys Angie / Max (husband and maintenance) Thank you for being polite and making the complex so beautiful. "This place is one the worst of the worst. I am not one to complain i been living at the Oaks with my parents for 10 years plus and we have been great tenants who paid rent on time and never complained. But this new manager is horrible mind you the one before her was not so great but this new one so Called Angie is beyond repair. Working in property management as property manager myself, my job is basically to make sure both of my renters and my owners are happy I called them my because i treat them all like normal human beings with respects . This property management that is with the Oaks Apartment never returns their phone calls, there's no way to email and no other form of communication. The manager at the office now always gives my father an attitude when he goes to the office. I told my dad to please go to the office ask the manager for the lease and bring it back home so i can read it after work and make sure that we all understand it correctly before we all sign it. The manager so called Angie told my dad that I need to stop by the office to sign the contract, I called her and left a voicemail letting her know that my father is not signing the lease for me we just simply need to read the lease before we all sign. Of course by law landlord/management company are suppose to provide the lease with rules and regulations before a tenant sign and they have any questions the tenant has rights to ask those questions. Oh yes one time my father went over to the office one day to ask for a stove because the one that was given to us the oven was never working, Angie flat out told my dad that if there's any maintenance issues that we need to fix it ourselves. I mean come on...... that is a very disrespectful thing to say to a renter. This management company really needs to accommodate their tenants. I don't care who you are or where you come from every tenants deserves to be treated with respect and dignity."
