Sterling Resorts - 30a Vacation Rentals by Vacasa

"Last weekend I rented a Condo in FL and I had an issue with the refrigerator, it worked but made a lot of noise. I reported the problem on Friday morning and a technician was sent who said that the unit must be replaced. On Friday afternoon, I received a text message offering me to move to another location or wait until Saturday for a refrigerator replacement and a reimbursement for the inconvenience. I chose to wait because we have friends in the same Condo and the options to move were far away from where we were. Saturday morning I called to check the status of the replacement and the Rep told me that they are going to send a new technician to repair it between 5 and 6pm. Called again on Saturday at 6 pm because nobody showed up and the Rep told me the technician will come at 7:30 pm so I declined the service for the late hours. I left the apartment on Monday morning with the same annoying noise from the refrigerator which didn't allow my family and me to sleep correctly."

"I booked a home in 30A on Sterling's web site, we paid our deposit, booked our flights to Florida, and were excited for our upcoming trip. However a few weeks after booking the reservation I received a voicemail from a staff member at Sterling advising that there was an error in the reservation and that there was a minimum # of days that the home had to be rented and we could either extend out stay or they would have to cancel the reservation. I called back and left a VM for them advising that we had already booked flights and that we could only stay for the days we book for originally. We traded some more voicemails with the last one saying that if they don't hear back from me by the end of the day that they are going to go ahead and cancel the reservation. I left them another voicemail advising that I don't consent to the cancellation and that this is not how customers are to be treated, and asked them to call me back immediately. I have not received a return phone call since, but I did receive their cancellation notice without any kind of offer to make things right for us. We have already spent money to book flights that are non-refundable and at this point prices for other homes have gone up and options are limited. For anyone considering renting a home in 30A, please beware that Sterling's web sites may not post accurate rental information, and at any point in time they can decide to not honor your reservation when other travel expenses have already been spent and are non-refundable. It's funny that a Hospitality company has 0 regard for customer service, where their peers seem to go out of their way to make sure the customer experience is pleasant. Their rental contracts outline all of the penalties that you would incur if you cancelled your reservation, however they can cancel for any reason without consideration or responsibility for the financial loss to you related to travel expenses booked in conjunction with your reservation."

"Disappointing. I have been renting from Sterling Resorts for years an d the service was the best on the beach. Unfortunately, the service has degraded. I rented a condo from Sterling and the Internet did not work for the first three days of our vacation. We had to drive to a coffee shop each day to do our work which was very inconvenient. Management seemed to think it was no big deal. Refused any type of partial refund and said "it was out of their control". Not a good experience with Sterling Resorts.. Unfortunately we will have to take our families business somewhere else."

"Loved the area and will be back but not with Sterling Resorts. For starters the house really didn't look like it had been cleaned well and had a strange odor on the main level which maintenance tried to address but didn't really help and we resorted to purchasing candles to help mask it. Most of the dishes, pots, pans, etc in the kitchen were dirty and had to be cleaned before using and according to their app our home came with grill that we planned most of our meals around but was nowhere to be found. When we inquired about it we were told they were checking with the property manager and would let us know, never heard anything back from them and when I checked the app again saw they had removed it. The final straw for us was the roaches that made an appearance in the kitchen and after putting in a maintenance request to have it addressed yet again got no response. It's clear they know nothing about customer service or care to take care of their guests, all they want is your money."

"My family and I booked with Sterling Resorts 30a and stayed here last week and we loved it! The customer service I received from the very start of our booking with Sterling Resorts 30A was great through out the entire experience. We loved our roomy condo and we rode bikes all over the 30a area. We also rented paddleboards and kayaks. We rode bikes to dinner in Seaside and just had a great time being active in such beautiful surroundings. Our experience was everything the kind workers and staff at Sterling 30a said it would be. The beaches are so clean and the water just the perfect temp. A large part of how much fun we were able to have and enjoy our vacation was due to (what I believe to be so) because the place was set up to our standards, very welcoming and safe. We will be back."
