"wow! I was very impressed with Crystal Lakes as I pulled up to be a future resident. The area is beautiful, clean , and welcoming. It got even better when I met the office staff. Mrs. Beverly is an angel sent, she returned every call and was very professional and took time out for me and every question I had. Collin was very nice as he showed me the awesome model unit and was very knowledgable. The move in was easier than I thought beacause of Mrs. Beverly. I am happy to be here and ready to go fishing and sit on my balcony enjoying the view of the lake and ducks! I also love the fact that they are pet friendly. I would like to add that I had the pleasure of meeting one of the maintenance men, Jessie, who was very polite and professional. I called today and they responded today! He helped move furniture and after fixing the problem, he added a new set of blinds to the deal! Thank you Jessie and i appreciate you!"

"absolute ghetto trash pile. rent so high but they can’t afford to upkeep the place. most RUDE people live in the complexes. if you live on the bottom floor your life will be miserable until your lease ends. could hear the people upstairs banging at 2 am and then fighting the following nights past 10 pm. screaming, stomping, crying, dogs barking, you get it. drunken groups will come home and wake you up in the middle of the night laughing and bantering. if your neighbors smoke inside, the smell will seep throughout the walls and air vents and your home WILL smell like cigarettes. there is no privacy here, you can hear and sometimes see everything everyone else is doing in the complex. cars speed through the place bumping their bass on high. random people that don’t even live there will show up in groups of 30 and host birthday parties for their children at the pool. most buildings are infested with mold and bugs. the most unpleasant past 2 years of my life and i’m so happy my mother and i found a new place :). never settle for this place."

"If you read nothing else of this review, just know that Crystal Lake Apartments is a great apartment complex for a reasonable price. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First of all, the most important thing one should look for in any apartment complex is the responsiveness of the management and maintenance staff. I don't care how nice an apartment is, if the management staff is not on top of their business, your stay at any place will be bad. I have found the management and maintenance staff here to be very much interested in handling any concerns I might have. I needed a light bulb changed and a copy of my leasing documents, and both were rectified in less than an hour. This might seem minor, but I have peace of mind in knowing that any other problems in the future would receive quick attention by the staff. In terms of amenities, you have a very nice pool deck with attached bathroom, a car washing station with water hose and powerful vacuum free of charge, gratuitous parking, and a very large bass fishing lake complete with two large fountains that provide a very nice ambiance. There is also a sand volleyball court, a kid play area complete with swing set and jungle gym, and a dog park with dog agility equipment for the active pupper. For the interior, my apartment received fresh paint and carpet. This is key to a good apartment because you know that you aren't dealing with mold or smells from previous tenants. For the price, the square footage is quite generous. The kitchen is compact which at times can be dismaying to someone who cooks a lot like I do, but I fixed this easily by purchasing some multiple layered shelving for my ridiculous amount of kitchen appliances. Certainly not a deal breaker for me. I have yet to find any cockroaches in my apartment which is a problem I've faced at much more expensive complexes. Clearly the maintenance staff is on top of keeping mother nature at bay. Also, the AC unit is large enough for the apartment because I very rarely hear it kick on so even on sweltering summer days it doesn't break a sweat maintaining temperature. Let it be known that I am exceptionally lazy, and in that respect I chose this apartment not only for the amenities but also for the locations it's near. I have the Walmart on Navy at a stone's throw, a Navy Federal branch right down the road on 98, a gas station at the corner, a great Japanese restaurant across the street, and a very nice gym right next door. Wanting to get back in shape, I knew the closer I was to my gym the more likely I'd drag myself out of bed to do just that. This is made even better because the Pensacola Athletic Center was just remodeled to the tune of 2 million dollars so it is easily one of the nicest gyms in town. There is also a back gate to the gym that is accessible just down the street from my front door so in total I have to walk less than a quarter mile to the entrance of the gym. All in all, I think that Crystal Apartments is a very nice complex surrounded by locations that provide added value that is provided at a reasonable cost. I'm a guy who focuses on value, and I think if you want to live on this side of town (especially if you're military) you couldn't go wrong joining this community.
