"This place gets a bad rap because of past management. Jennifer Cain and her staff are the most amazing people ever. They care 100% about the community and the people who live here. People forget they have bosses too and they are only doing their job to the best of their abilities. Which is up and beyond any previous management. They are redoing everything and making it beautiful. The rent is lowest in Baldwin county. Come here and you will have a home...."
"When I moved there, they told me that they were remodeling the apartments and there was even a person measuring the cabinets on the day I moved in. Almost 2 years later, I moved out and the only thing that changed was the price - it increased, obviously. Besides that, I got only one other thing to say about this place: don't expect to receive anything back from your security deposit. When I moved out, they charged me way over the deposit amount (over 3x, to be more precise), even though I left the apartment in much better condition than when I moved in (broken drawers, poorly cleaned, with stains on the carpet -that you're required to pay for a cleaning when you move out) New management won't even listen to you, they said it's the corporate office's decision, but they were the ones inspecting the units, so..."
"DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! We had to be moved out of our unit due to our building being condemned. Me and my family stayed sick and always having headaches. Reported multiple of times about there being mold in our unit but nothing was ever done so when our shower started leaking every time we would take a shower they had someone come out and cut a hole in the wall but just left the hole unpatched for weeks and the smell of mold got really bad. I’ve told these people multiple of times since there was a busted pipe behind the wall and leakage that there is mold all along behind the wall. So when that guy came and cut a hole in the wall of course there was mold on the piece he cut. We spoke with the manager (which is rude and don’t care about nobody but herself) and she tells us that our building is condemned but they had no other unit to move us to so they was going to give us until May 1st to find somewhere else. Well since we was not going to pay for April do to the building being condemned they started to switch they story and said the building was never condemned and there was not mold. We moved out in May and like a month later they send us a letter in the mail stating that we owe them $9500. Charging all types of fees so don’t even bank on you getting the deposit back and be prepared to pay a carpet clean and deep clean. They ain’t nothing but a joke and they apartments are not worth the amount that they charge."
"Recently moved out from this place and I the only thing I can say is: stay away from it! I moved from a unit to a bigger one in 2022 when the property was still managed by Sunchase and was told that I'd have to pay a new deposit through a company called Rhino and I'd receive my deposit from the 1st unit within a few weeks. Well, I kept sending emails and calling and they could never give me an answer about this deposit, it was always "we need to check with the corporate office". Three months latter I get an email stating that they were no longer using Rhino and they had transferred the full amount of my 1st deposit to the 2nd unit - 2 security deposits on 1 unit? When I moved out from this second unit, the property was under Sunridge's management and I got a statement charging me way over the deposit amount for damages and cleaning (even thought they told me the apartment was left in great condition and they wish everyone would leave the apartments the way I left mine). I was charged a cleaning fee and a carpet shampooing fee, but on my move in checklist I made notes about the unit not being properly cleaned and the carpet being stained - I cleaned and removed the stains, I even had pictures of it - but NOTHING was done about it. Then I told them I had a deposit with Rhino plus another one that was transferred WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, but they said they couldn't even find my Rhino policy in my file and asked ME to reach out to the previous management and ask about it - like it was my fault that they lost it. When I asked them what I could do about this, they said they couldn't do anything, since they were not the ones who cancelled my policy with Rhino. How come you take over a company and can't do anything to solve the issues that were caused before? They could take my money, but not solve the issues caused by the previous company... I lost the money paid to Rhino (they couldn't cover any costs since the policy was cancelled previously by the management, not me), lost the deposit and had to pay almost 3x what I paid on the 1st unit's deposit, even though I left the apartment in MUCH better condition than when I moved in. So if you want get robbed, go ahead and move to the Villas at Bon Secour."
"Reasonably priced apartments for the area and while the apartments aren't new, ownership and management is in the process of updating them and getting any issues fixed and taken care of. If you are looking for a place, I would recommend Villas at Bon Secour. The property manager is very professional and handles any issues that arise quickly and takes pride in her job. While some may complain about the rules of the property, those rules are in place for the safety of the residents and visitors of the apartment complex. If you follow the rules, you'll be happy with your choice to stay there. Just follow the rules as it makes for a better resident and visitor experience."
