Hampton Inn Gulf Shores

"Upon entering the room, it smelt like a wet dog kennel. There was hair in the bathtub and toilet. Dirt was in the bathtub. My friend is allergic to dogs, and I honestly thought we would be at the hospital. There was a dog in the hotel with no leash nor collar that ran up to us as we were leaving. We both have no problems with dogs, but a severe allergic reaction could have been serious. It would have been nice to know all of this beforehand, other accommodations may have been found for the event. The carpet was horrible and was honestly scared to get in the beds. Was told 2.5 miles from the event but was at least 20 minutes from it. Glad the traffic was medium. NO NEVER EVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE AND THE CHARGE FOR THAT WAS RIDICULOUS. If the place wouldn't have all the issues the price would not have been an issue. But had to clean the room the best we could before we left foe the event."

"This Hampton is very well maintained. The front desk staff is very courteous and made sure I was well taken care of. I checked out on Saturday morning but needed someplace to finish up some work before hitting the road. The team member at the front desk welcomed me to stay in the lobby area to finish my work and checked on me a couple times to make sure I did not need anything. Definitely a plus being a business traveler."

"Rooms were very clean. Pool is very nice and clean. Rooms were the perfect size for us (couple on vacation.) Location is perfect. Right down the road from the beach and close to all the hot spots. Staff was amazing and very friendly. Special shout out to the GM, Brian, for being one of the nicest people we’ve ever met in the hotel business. I had an issue and he was so helpful and kind. It was a pleasure to stay here and we will absolutely be back."

"the manager Brian and his front desk staff are Liars to include Becky! I checked out a day early and they said i didn't even check out, when i walked down stairs and spoke with a young lady at front desk, and made sure i checked out. they will not refund me my money for the one night and It will be my job to let everyone know not to stay at this location because they are dishonest."

"We booked our reservation in January and paid in full. When we arrived to check in at 5:50 pm 7/18/23, there was no one at the front desk or anywhere visible on the first floor. And no sign indicating "Be right back" or anything. At 6 pm, the front desk clerk strolled in from outside (apparently she went outside to smoke since it is a non-smoking facility). Proceeding to check in, I say, "you show that this reservation is paid, right?" "Yes, but we put a hold on the full amount for incidentals ($572)...it will be returned", she says. NO! I was double charged and had to call Hilton Honors to have the fee reversed...not happy about that! We get to the room (#325) and discover that there's a barn door to cover the closet/bathroom. Clever idea? Not really, because there is a 3-inch gap when you try to close the bathroom door. And one of the trim tiles in the closet had fallen off and was just lying on the floor, while another tile was completely missing. Also, the air conditioning did not work well. Lastly, the breakfast we received both mornings we were there was sub par...not at all what we usually get at a Hampton Inn."
