"This place was terrible. They completely overbooked. They placed us, a family of 4, in a room with a single King bed. They didn’t have any additional rooms and even though we are Platinum Elite Marriott members, they wouldn’t change our room or give us an upgrade. The place was also had a very strong perfume smell which made my 11 year old nauseous. I would recommend finding somewhere else to stay."
"I have Titanium status, and have stayed at all kinds of Marriots. This is the only one I would never stay at again. I have never experienced such consistent rude treatment from various staff members. Check-in was short and unwelcoming with snide comments. After going out that evening, I somehow misplaced the keys to our room and asked for a new set. One would have thought I asked them for something that was extraordinarily difficult. There was an annoyed and frustrated look and tone and not one hint of kindness. When I checked in on the app, I had indicated I wanted a 1pm checkout. The app did not flag that it was not available, and when I checked in at the front desk upon arrival, there was no mention of this being an issue. I received a phone call at 12:30 and they told me that my belongings were still in my room, so they were charging me for another night. I told them I planned for a 1pm check-out. She informed me that was only available if they had availability and they did not. I said I understood the policy, but I had not been informed that there was not availability. She repeated the policy. I again acknowledged my understanding, noting that void of being informed that I could not, I assumed my request was being honored. She repeated the policy again, I recognized there was zero concern for my experience. I was back to my room about 20 minutes later, only to find they had locked me out of my room (it was before 1pm). A bad culture that spills over to a bad customer experience. As for the property, the pool is closed due by the city/ state due to violations (has been for over 7 months). The rooms are older. I prepaid, thinking that would be the best rate, but I would have been better to not, as then I could have gotten a lower rate (I otherwise could have canceled my reservation and made a new one at the lower rate that was available 24 hours before check-in)."
"This is a decent airport hotel in the Marriott family. They have an airport shuttle that runs from 6:30am to 10:30pm. The shuttle can also take you if you are getting on a cruise. Breakfast is included. The rooms are fine. They aren't spotless but are clean. It's not the Ritz. Good location for the airport or if you are hopping on a cruise."
"We were here for a Basketball tournament (at Miami Senior High School), traveling from Tampa, Florida. The hotel lobby was gorgeously decorated. It appeared like our stay would be amazing. The breakfast was outstanding! There was a nice variety. Now.... these were the ONLY good items. We stayed in Room 404. I can't even begin to explain my DISAPPOINTMENT!! We checked in on Dec. 27, 2023. Our Athletic Director for our school paid for all the rooms...so I didn't want to complain; however, some things Must be reported. Each night we had a "PIERCING" mini fire alarm from the TOILET!!! We never had ANY good rest! I called several times and NO ONE came to even check out the situation. (I have videos attached). Then, several of my clothes were ruined! The iron had a mind of its own. Water "POURED" from it like it was a waterfall in a previous life. Our checkout was on Dec. 30, 2023. I spoke with the General Manager (Mitch Bermudez) on checkout. He instantly had an attitude when I was explaining my displeasure with the stay. He raised his voice and said, " Why are you acting Iike that?" In turn, I told him, "Listen you can lower your octave because that's unnecessary." He looked at me, and without regard said, "Have a nice day..." as he turned and walked off. APPALLED is the word that comes to mind. I'm not a Marriott rewards member and now I understand why. I was embarrassed in front of several people at the front desk and other patrons. Experiencing the lackluster customer service from the hotel GM explains the reason why the customer service from the staff is subpar."
"If you are cruising. Waited 2 hours and never did show up. Had to uber and that cost even more. I was told the shuttle is run by a 3rd party contract. Came for some sun and pool time. Pool was closed. Told city did not have enough people to come and inspect it. Sent to the hotel next door to use their pool and it is small and shaded as well. The lady at the front desk was amazing trying to settle the situation. We ended up going to a different hotel."
