"I hesitated to share my 5 star review for fear that once people tried this dental practice, I would never be able to get an appointment! I have been to excellent dentists in 3 different states including NY and CT and 2 other dentists in Deland and Orange City. This dentist surpasses all of them both in skill, pain minimization and empathy. He is located near downtown and has a old town style waiting area and setting which is very relaxing. As someone who sees a dentist regularly and has had painful emergencies that had to wait because a dentist wasn't available, Dr. DeGraff always tries to be available to his patients even if it may be off hours. No dentist that I have been to does that. Best part is he is basically painless. I have very sensitive teeth and gums. No matter who I went to, there was a certain amount of pain. Not with Dr.DeGraff. He even uses novacaine that has less sting just to make injections pain free. He always asks how you are doing through procedures and will explain anything you ask. He never rushes. He truly cares about you and what you are feeling. I picked him out originally because he had a degree in engineering and worked in that field before getting his dental degree. I knew that gave him more insight to treat dental patients. I also recommend his hygienist, Patti, who is lovely and does a fantastic job without pain. In the last 50 years I would put off cleanings because my teeth were too sensitive no matter what hygienist I went to but not with Pat. She is extremely experienced and best of all..NO PAIN. Who would think a painless, expert ,empathetic dentist who deals with emergencies and a painless hygienist you are not afraid to see twice a year ever existed? But they are right here in Deland! Please go once and see. You will not be disappointed. I know this review might crowd his schedule even more but I would have hoped somebody had told me 15 years ago about him when I first moved here!"

"I had a terrible experience at another dentist. The Dentist there told me that I had to get a crown for a small chip in my tooth plus I would need root canal. In addition to that, I would need two more crowns for the other teeth that have amalgam fillings. The other place billed me $2000 for a crown that I didn’t not need which I later learned from Dr. DeGrass. That experience made me depressed. I read an article by Dr.DeGrass that crowns are not necessary. So I decided to go to him after my experience. However, I wished I would have gone to him sooner. I had him to fix my other two teeth that had the silver fillings before they caused any further damage to my teeth.☺️ He did an AWESOME job. On top of that, he had to correct a problem with the crown that the other dentist did. He saved me thousands of dollars. Although, he’s out of network, I would rather go to him for my dental care."

While other dentists told us we needed to spend thousands of dollars for crowns, he offered alternatives. He is extremely knowledgeable and has extensive experience.
