Edward Medard Conservation Park
About the Business
Edward Medard Conservation Park, located at 6140 Turkey Creek Road in Plant City, Florida, is a popular tourist attraction and park. Originally known as Pleasant Grove Park and Reservoir, the park was donated to The Southwest Florida Water Management District in 1969 and developed into one of Hillsborough County's largest regional parks.
The park features a 700-acre reservoir where visitors can enjoy canoeing, boating, and fishing. There is also a 3-mile trail that winds through pine flatwoods and hardwood hammocks, perfect for equestrians, hikers, and bird watchers. Please note that horseback riding rentals are not provided, so visitors must bring their own horses.
For Frisbee enthusiasts, there is a disc golf course, as well as a beach volleyball court with a scenic view of the sunset. The park also offers picnic shelters, a boardwalk, playground, and an observation platform overlooking the reservoir.
Annual park and boat ramp passes can be purchased at the administrative offices or conservation parks. Free or discounted passes are available for eligible disabled veterans and active duty members or honorably discharged Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard, or Reserves.
Visitors can rent canoes and kayaks at the park's entry station, and there are 42 first-come, first-serve campsites for RV and tent camping. All campsites have amenities such as picnic tables, electricity, fire rings, and water. Public restrooms with showers and an RV dump station are also available for campers.

"Very clean very beautiful , worth to come, I will come again! Love it !"
"It has not been as good as it once was. The Boardwalk is now a pier and the old pier is gone. You can play disk golf, Camping, boating, and other things. It does seem like they are trying to make it nice though."
"It's a wonderful park I have been to growing up and birthday parties, and my kids growing up would bring my kids and neices nephews! Great job here! Yvonne' brother used to work here, and Gwenda did a nice job. Thank you. I highly recommend it!!"
"I'm trying to think of where to start with this review. There was just so much. So I'll just start by saying, this is a wonderful park to bring the kiddos out to have parties. It was very clean, including the restrooms and there were several pavilions with barbecue pits. Everywhere you go has access to the lake with stunning views. Plus they offer canoe rentals if you want to venture out into the water. If you have your own boat, they have boat ramps for you to bring your own vessels out on the water. There's also several great spots for fishing. Of course be careful of the wildlife, snakes and gators. My favorite thing about this park is the hiking trails! There's an area with these massive trees on hills. It's so cool! It's really fun for the kids to climb through the maze of roots and look out into the water. I personally think it's the best spot in the entire park. Lastly, there's a lookout point that's about 4 or 5 stories y'all, that you can walk up to get an aerial view of the lake. Very pretty! This park is definitely one I would recommend. Oh and it's only $2/car to enter."
"Love this park trail. Didn't get to complete the levee trail but we have done the wooded trail....stunning. The wooded trail has a bit of elevation changes & beautiful water scenery. Have cash on you as it's about $2 to get in (well worth it). Long trails - about 3 miles or so."
