"One of the valet guys was nice and informative about the parking times. He was very helpful as well when we came back downstairs with a minor issue. The W itself was clean and secure."
"Had a good experience staying at this hotel last week. Good location downtown (although it was near loud car traffic) and it was great to be able to check in early after a cruise, but this hotel can't get the easy things right... I stayed on a free night award and, of course, the hotel charges a resort/amenity fee of $21.40 even on "free night" stays. That's just the way things go with Marriott. I checked out early the next morning and received a copy of my bill. The only cost was the $21.40. Everything was correct...or so i thought. Unfortunately, one day later, I received a revised bill via email for another $15.65 for "Mix Bar." Although I had a $20.00 food/beverage credit due to my Marriott Platinum status, I did NOT use any of that credit. Yet I was charged $15.65 mysteriously. I have since called the hotel. After being put on hold for 10 minutes, I was told that the charge was taken off and I would receive a second revised bill. Almost one week later, I still have not been sent a second revised bill. I was able retrieve the second revised bill through my Marriott account but was never emailed the copy, as was promised. To top things off, even though the bill appears to have been corrected, my credit card charge for the additional $15.65 has not yet dropped off, now one week after my stay. After speaking with the hotel a second time, the waiting period is usually 5-10 business days and refunds are not processed by the hotel itself. So, while I'd recommend this hotel for the rooms, location, and ambiance, the fact that the bill wasn't correct (even had I ordered food or beverage, $20.00 should have been credited off due to my status) and the fact that a refund for an incorrect charge can take up to 10 business days (over 2 weeks' time), I would caution people who want to book this hotel."
"I feel compelled to share my recent experience at the W Miami with candor. Despite being a loyal Titanium Elite Marriott member with elevated expectations for a 5-star establishment, my stay fell short of expectations. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed an unpleasant odor reminiscent of urine, suggesting inadequate cleanliness standards. I was moved to a cleaner "Marvelous Suite." Alongside this, I encountered various issues throughout my stay, including disruptions at the pool, restaurant, and parking facilities. Despite initial apologies from management and promises of compensation in points, two months passed with no resolution. Following further attempts to address the matter, I was eventually contacted by a courteous representative who partially fulfilled the promised compensation. However, this episode has left me with mixed feelings. Upon reviewing other guests' feedback, it appears that many encountered similar challenges during their stays. It is evident that the hotel is in need of refurbishment and may warrant a reassessment of its 5-star rating. The persisting issues across various amenities, coupled with the absence of a lounge—a hallmark of 5-star Marriott properties—further underscore the need for improvement. While there has NOW been a small effort to rectify the situation, my overall experience has raised doubts about the W Miami's commitment to upholding its esteemed reputation."
"We wanted to stay at the W Hotel for our wedding night. First of all they don’t answer the phones, the website is very ambiguous on the amenities offered. In addition, we were disappointed by the many negative reviews for lack of maintenance, cleanliness, and noise. The W Hotel is an upscale lifestyle luxurious hotel that doesn’t live up to the hype and standards we were looking for. We wanted to make our wedding night memorable and special, we had another vision for the W Hotel. We were looking for a quiet and romantic place to stay and it fell short. The hotel was built in 2009 and is in need of some renovation to entice guests to stay at this hotel. The prices are high for what it has to offer and we’re ready to pay, but due to everything mentioned above we decided to go elsewhere. Management should read consumer reviews and make improvements. A little act of neglect can mar the reputation of a hotel."
"Our room was for sure a little tired as far as paint, wallpaper, chipped wood on cabinets etc. But the soft goods and amenities were great. I would recommend an upgrade to the balcony furniture. But Vibe checking us in at the front desk was for sure the highlight of our stay. His professional attitude, kindness and "vibe" was refreshing in this day & age where front desk charm has but been forgotten!! Thank you Vibe!!"
