"I think people over-value this place due to proximity. There is such a need for affordable hotels, that this place probably won't ever shutter (not any time soon at least). I'm grateful it was near the beach, since the pool is more like an overgrown bathtub. I like the front patio. The showers were nice. I think the cleaning people were the nicest. Front desk people were hit or miss. I was annoyed that the toilet in my first room was broken. When the maintenance guy came to fix it, it was such a shoddy job, that within 15 minutes it was broken again. They tried to bring in another maintenance guy (more competent I guess), but we were already packing up to go to a new room. It wasn't a very pro-active staff. You needed to ask for stuff they promised you, it wasn't just given. Coffee was only out from 7:30-9 AM. They just seemed like they did a lot on the cheap, and a lot of the staff had an attitude like they didn't want to be working there. It's a shame too, as it could be so much better."
"I'm a huge fan of Hyatt properties and their partners. However, I have to say this is the worst in which I've ever stayed, and I'm a globalist member. The worst aspect of the room is privacy. There is no soundproofing whatsoever. There were people in the hallways at all hours of the night talking loudly. We could even hear them clearly when they were in their room. A couple down two rooms were arguing, the guy next to us must have had some respiratory issue, and there were two rooms of women drinking all night. The bathroom and shower were at the entrance to the room with glass walls and doors. There was no room to open a suitcase. There wasn't a working mini fridge because they were unplugged. There was no ice unless you called the front desk. We had free breakfast, which was terrible. We got there at 8 am when they opened. We were one of two couples in the restaurant (Naked Taco) and it took an hour before our food arrived. My wife's french toast was soggy, and my meal was basically two eggs covered in a mound of shredded cabbage. We didn't get our free breakfast the next day because the previous day was so bad. I'm not sure this is a category five demanding over $350 per night. If you're into partying all night and don't mind all of the noise, this might be a decent place for you. It's not real far from the beach and there are a lot of restaurants nearby. I will stay at one of the other Hyatt properties if my travels ever take me back to Miami."
"Location of this place is great if you want to be in the main tourist strip of south beach. Keep in mind you’re across from a hostel so there will be a certain type of crowd. The pool and rooftop were nice but a little run down. Could use new furniture. Happy hour was great, food was awesome and prices good. Rooms: very dark but cool vibes: great shower. They were great with the cleaning, very efficient. Sorry but the bed was very uncomfortable which was disappointing. Fridge in the room wasn’t working. They provide beach access for chairs and towels but the umbrellas aren’t included which is disapointing. Had to pay $20 USA for umbrellas Overall the stay was okay but didn’t feel it was worth the price"
"We enjoyed our stay here at Dream South Beach. Stayed for 1 night before embarking on a cruise. REALLY enjoyed the rooftop pool & bar and honestly would rebook the same place on this alone! Justin at the pool was extremely pleasant & accommodating too! The pool itself was very relaxing & very nice. The rooms are modern, but small. Very clean. Our room was very noisy (could hear the music from the restaurant downstairs), but it was only one night, so we just decided to stay in it. Would def ask not to be in same spot next time. Overall, worth it for the price!"
"It’s in the best location in south beach. Close to the beach and a lot of nice restaurant and bar. The main thing I didn’t like is their room the interior and all the amenities are good except the way they keep their floor. It’s still the old and cracked tiles and looks like they need good cleaning. Also if you are looking for a nice stay to take some rest after a long day it’s not for you. You can hear the songs from next door clubs and restaurants even after midnight."
