"First off, my welcome was absolutely rude and disappointing. They immediately judged me and said I'm at the wrong hotel. The owner is a very old gentleman and very disrespectful. He wants respect but doesn’t show any. As a military man and out of South Miami, I am used to dealing with old racist Hispanic men, so I let him and the first day on the job little girl do their thing so I could just get to my room and take a nap. The only reason I got in was because I mentioned my wife was Latino, and she’ll be here shortly. I finally get the room after chaos, and then another customer curses them out for being rude. BTW, the other customer was a dark Hispanic. Now I’m in the room, beyond crummy, the floors are sticky, there’s mold on the shower curtain, the lights are flickering on and off, the toilet wouldn’t flush, the blinds are broken behind the see-through curtain, and I think that about it besides only two towels for me and my wife and the creepy mirror over the bed. We slept on top of the cover in our own cover we brought. I feel as if not only do they dislike black Americans, they just have bad customer service and need to be shut down. One of the worst spots I have ever been to. Only good things is when I returned the key the lady in the morning seemed to be normal and respectable. 2/10"

"I went in July but just came across the listing again so had to share! Expedia told me it was $508 for a room with 2 beds for a week..… (I know its cheap but thats what I agreed to pay for) Long story short they tried charging me like $850. I refused. After going back and forth for an hour, me showing her my receipt, her telling me that my receipt is irrelevant, and expedia getting mad at them and cancelling the entire reservation, she ended up charging me $780 for a 1 bed room for a week (I had no other option as there was a festival in miami and places were now charging like $2000 a week) and the wifi didn’t work unless you were in the parking lot, the A/C didn’t work well AND they tried kicking me out 3 days early saying I only bought 4 nights I literally refused to leave and was ready to call the cops and the older man just left me alone. I REALLY would have thought this was a nice business with nice people but they are trying to take advantage of people by charging them extra money that they agreed to pay for. They tried blaming expedia and I told the lady I have used expedia hundreds of times and this has never happened to me. She said expedia says it has extra fees I said yes expedia had your hotel listed at $38/night and it was $508 WITH the additional fees included and she just kept telling me I was wrong. When I checked with Expedia they said the hotel was 110% wrong and they advised me not to pay more than what my total on expedia was but I had already went and payed the $780. Long story short, in my eyes this hotel owes me $280 and I will forever vouch to everybody that this entire place is a scam. I have travelled the entire world using Expedia and have never had a single issue with any hotels, car rentals, flights or anything until this specific hotel. The timing was horrible as when I got there I didn’t get paid for 2 days and had to spend $280 more than I thought I was spending on arrival. Mind you, WE HAD TO SHARE A BED NOW TOO!!!!! For more money…. Gets me heated just thinking about it makes me wanna go to small claims court since I have written proof from Expedia that they were not to charge me any additional fees other than what was stated."

"Like some of the other reviewers, I really wanted to support this small business, but I can’t. While it was perfectly situated between the ocean and the intercoastal on the A1A and the room was the perfect size, it needed a lot of work and cleaning. The linens and towels were very nice, but there were not enough towels for more than one person. There was only the right side handle on the bathroom sink; the left side was just the nub. The furniture looked dated and worn and was mismatched, but one could possibly call that “eclectic.” These are also “for rent” as “furnished apartments”, but there were not a lot of long term furnishings. The coffee maker…. Well, let’s just say you’ll want to buy it by the cup somewhere else. This place has huge potential, it just needs a huge amount of capital and work. It would also be nice if all of the hours of operation listed on the website and those listed on the office door were all the same."

"Dirty, old and falling apart. Treble experience. The only good about this place is a location. Everything else is terrible. Room was dirty. Floor tiles are not staying in please. AC pointed right into you head when you lay in bed. In the oven range only one of 4 burners was working. Toster was not working as well as oven. In shower edge of drain cover was lifted and razor sharp, so I cut my toe badly."

"You get what you pay for. My boyfriend and I came down to visit with family. We made a reservation to stay at The Caroline for 3 nights. We only ended up staying for 2. The pictures posted online are not accurate!!! We booked a studio and it was dirty. Completely run down. The smoke detector didn't show any signs of being on, the stove only had one burner working, the dishes smelled like mildew even after washing, there was dirt everywhere. The sheets were scratchy and there were crusted parts all over the comforter and sheets. We had to keep the tv on pretty loud all night because there were people in and out all night long. I wish had something better to say because I believe it's a small family business, but it just was NOT okay. Stay somewhere else."
