"I made a reservation in October 2023 for November 2023 and cancelled the next day. I received an email confirming my fully refundable cancellation which stated I would receive my refund within 30 days. It is now February 2024, and they still haven’t refunded me (nearly $1000). I have called more than 10 times, and each time that I’ve gotten through to someone they confirm that they owe me a refund and will take care of it right away, but they never do. For the past week, I’ve been unable to reach anyone at the hotel. Don’t book with them. They do not seem to be a legitimate business. I called Wyndham corporate office since this is a Wyndham hotel, but they said it’s not their problem. I guess I’ll work with my credit card company to try to get this refund now, but I wanted to warn off any future guests from booking with this shady hotel."
"Staff isn’t mean but they aren’t helpful either. I booked a room Saturday to Monday for less than 24 hour use. I called in before I even booked the room to ask then about checking in 9 am Sunday. I called again Wenesday with my booking information to make sure it wasn’t problem then when I showed they had marked me down as a no show gave my room away and had to wait an hour for them to figure it out. Place was clean but a lot of things are just broken little things like outlets lights. My AC is either on and cools to sixty or you turn it off. No fridge No ice machine nothing."
"This hotel is fine if you're just looking for a cheap place to sleep. Definitely more of a party/younger crowd. I wouldn't reccomend for families. The staff was very nice and room was clean. Amazing location! You get what you pay for!"
"I've traveled the world, but no other hotel has shocked me as much as Hotel Astor in Miami Beach. I am a Wyndham Diamond member and booked a one-night stay there. During reservation, they mentioned that the elevator wasn't working, but that should have been a sign of the overall disarray I would encounter, which I unfortunately didn't grasp at the time. The front desk was in complete chaos, with a disorganized reception area. As a Diamond member, I was entitled to an upgrade, and I could see that there was a higher category room available during check-in. However, the receptionist insisted that such a room didn't exist. When we arrived at our room, we found no key. Instead, there was a regular home-style smart lock installed on the door. The staff member came up, set a password on the door lock in front of us, wrote it down on a piece of paper, and handed it to us. At first glance, the room seemed clean, but within a minute, I started noticing numerous oddities. First, there was no bulb in the bathroom. They hadn't installed it. Instead, there was a bedside lamp placed on the sink, which didn't work properly, so we had to plug and unplug it each time we used the bathroom. The bathroom mirror had strange stains, the counter was broken, and the sink was cracked. The toilet flush was improperly installed, working only when pressed in the opposite direction. The room's door was bizarrely half-painted. The bathroom door was rusted all over. The room's curtains were filthy and looked like they had never been washed. The duvet smelled foul, and there was no duvet on the bed. We had to use a spare one. Some of the wall sockets didn't work, and oddly, some would turn off the room's lights when used. Under the table, there was a mixture of dust and rust. It was a profoundly disappointing experience, especially considering my membership status and expectations from a reputed hotel chain."
"This was the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever been in. Staff was rude and did not acknowledge us when we walked in. Elevators are not working so good luck to anyone who cannot walk on stairs while carrying heavy luggage. The room itself was awful. We checked for bed bugs as soon as we walked in (surprisingly there were none). Most outlets didn’t work. Bathroom mirror was cracked as well as the sink. Shower was VILE. Didn’t take off sandals due to fear of catching some foot disease. No mini fridge. The remote to the TV didn’t even have a power button. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. This was not a 3 star hotel; more like -60 stars. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE. They won’t even answer to confirm your reservation! I tried calling for 6 weeks!! Didn’t even know if they were opened !!!"
