"I will never deal with them ever again! I am Costco customer for last 8 years and never had a problem with Costco. But it is very disappointing to say Costco Pharmacy is not upto the standards set by Costco. My doctor sent a prescription for glucometer to Costco and I collected it from Costco Pharmacy. Couple of days later I got to know from my insurance that they didn’t cover it as it isn’t their preferred brand. I went to pharmacy to speak about it as why they gave me which isn’t covered by my insurance. They told me that my doctor particularly called for a brand and so they can’t give me a insurance preferred brand. Two weeks later when I went to doctors office for a follow up visit, I requested my doctor not to give any specific brands since my insurance isn’t covering certain brands. To my surprise, my doctor said they called for a generic one whichever is covered by my insurance. They even gave me a copy of prescription they sent to Costco Pharmacy. I went to Costco pharmacy again to get a clarification. Now they don’t have an answer why they lied to me during my last visit. All I understood from my discussion with them was, they don’t have enough knowledge on what are preferred brands for each insurance. When you don’t know that, they can very well ask their customer to get that information from their insurance. But they don’t do any of that, they just pick whatever they like and don’t bother about it insurance covers that or not. They claim that they do their job, as a Costco customer we expect them to do a better job. Changing my pharmacy to CVS as I don’t want to deal with lying pharmacists!"
