"I don't give it one star... I made an appointment to celebrate my daughter's birthday... which didn't show up with more than 40 guests and my daughter is a student at that gym... what a blatant lack of respect and abuse. I arrived on the day of my appointment to celebrate my daughter's birthday and it was closed, no one showed up, no one answered the phone. If it's for me he will sue them. Don't even think about planning a birthday e. that place"
"(Avalon) Don’t bother with a birthday party. Showed up early and was told they had no helium for the balloons. Luckily they were able to provide a couple. The party was suppose to start at 12:30pm. At 12:40pm I went hunting for someone to start us. The guy acted like he had no idea what to do or what was going on. Told us it’s free play to just go run around. The place wasn’t even empty there were others practicing / working on things. The play time was suppose to be for an hour and he tried to get us to stop after 30-35 minutes, we told him no we didn’t even start on time and we get a full hour. I was hoping for some guided fun activities and more then 1 person for 15 kids. Luckily I had parents that took those roles while the guy disappeared for the entire party. Not sure what I actually paid for?"
"We absolutely love Orlando Metro Gymnastics! My kids have been going there for almost 2 years. We love summer camp, parents night outs, and various holiday events. Kids always come home happy and exhausted. The staff and coaches are very attentive. My daughter has been a part of the competitive team for over a year, and has had great progress overall. We love Orlando Metro gymnastics!"
"Please read all the one star reviews! After 4 months (2 X week lesson) at this place, my daughter is not improving her skills. This place is a waste of money for parents looking for their kids to develop fine skills in Gymnastics. If you are looking for a place for your kids to go and play for an hour and pay $140 every four weeks, this is the place for you! The front desk lady is rude, yes very rude (blond hair, dark hair), they are all very rude. Orlando Metro Gymnastics policies are conveniently made to get the more money out of you! -Classes consist of 7-8 kids (mostly girls) sometimes more. They take turns to the beam, floor, bars, etc. Do the math: 1 adult x 1 beam x 20 min /8 kids = 2.5 chances at practicing. -Coaches for beginners are not trained coaches. They are young adults (students) with no coaching knowledge; therefore you are just getting a baby sitter to deal with your child for an hour while you watch their interaction. -They bill you based on a 4 week period, on august they canceled classes because of the 5 week month. The month of November ends on the 15. -If you miss a class there is no make up, unless you miss two classes then you get 1 make up class (2 for 1) and the make up class must be on a Saturday. -Place is dirty and needs maintenance. I saw roaches and the boys bathroom door has not worked properly for some time; so boys don't have privacy when they use the bathroom. I requested a cancelation and they did not even asked why, just gave me a form to fill out (considering the 30 days notice). If you were the owner of this place, would you care to know why a parent was canceling membership? Good luck and I hope you find another place for your kids!"
"Hard to believe any real parent has rated Orlando Metro Gymnastics as a great facility to put your kid in. I wish I could rate this place in Alafaya Trail a -10. My daughter was pushed, kicked behind her knees and had her ponytail whacked by another girl today and Dawn and Brittany at the front desk responded with "they're just kids". It hit me like a ton of bricks to realize that this place doesn't care about the children's safety and has no anti-bullying policies. My husband and I talked with mom of the little girl who did the above mentioned things to my daughter and she had her daughter apologize. Fine, end of story for now I hope. But what if I wasn't there to see this happen? According to what Dawn told me the coaches would handle any such occurrences, but with a class of about 8 girls the coach isn't always looking. I am extremely concerned for the care entrusted to Dawn in ensuring a safe and anti-bullying culture since she claims to be the district manager. With all due respect, I can say that when I spoke to Dawn about the issue with my daughter she handled it with utmost disrespect for our patronage, stating that we could leave and take our daughter out of gymnastics. I said, that was not a solution and that the facility must take steps so that this doesn't happen and should have already discourage it from happening in the first place. Completely shocked and seeing as though I wasn't getting through to her, I suggested she imagined it was her daughter being pushed and kicked...wouldn't she want the facility to do something or have a plan of how it will be deal with? She said it has happened to her daughter before and "that's just how kids are". Can you believe this? I have proof of what she said. Most people have heard of the 13 year old who committed suicide this past August and he even wrote a note in which he said his school didn't do anything to stop the other kids bullying. A kid should never feel like they are alone against a bully and we as adults have THE responsibility to protect them, to show them a solution other than taking their own life. Dawn and Brittany at Orlando Metro Gymnastics should seriously reconsider if they are the right people to be working with kids."
