"My friends and I took this course with Adam Strickland and could not have asked for a better teacher or experience! His job was to teach us the basic skills and emergency protocols of diving. He not only taught me invaluable procedures, but also how to swim, tread water and be relaxed in the water. He understands your mental fears and teaches you to overcome them in a safe environment before putting you in tougher situations. During our open water dive, he made sure the newbies were outnumbered by the veterans, so that if something were to happen, one of the experienced divers had our backs and that was so comforting! When our fears overtook us, his calming demeanor, patience, and excellent communication skills (on land and under water) allowed us to persevere. I know I would not have been successful had it not been for Adam! He also observed that our site that day was crowded and caused unnecessary anxiety for us newbies. Instead of pushing through to get it over with, he asked us if we wanted to come back on a calmer day so we could really get the most out of our experience. Mind you, this is a 2 hour drive for him and for us! You are not going to get that level of care anywhere else.
