"This is a terrible school if your child has any sort of learning disorder. It took them TWO years to get my kid a learning IEP. They refuse to place WHAT the learning disorder is on his IEP, meaning the extra help he needs will always be generalized. My nephew, in a different school and county, has the same learning disorder, but his school wrote the specific disorder on his IEP that he was given after only ONE year in school (and that was delayed due to COVID) and gave him one on one attention for it. He’s younger and improving faster because his school was attentive and got to him quicker and gave him one on one attention, not just small groups. My son is now homeschooling because, short of moving our whole family to a new school district, I saw it as my only option for him. He’s in second grade and still can’t read. He can hardly add or subtract. I’m now seeing the frustrations he’ll suffer his whole life because this school took their sweet time helping him. Also, in this very school, I have a friend whose kid was HYPERACTIVE, not a learning disorder, but he got an IEP within a year for extra help. So, if your kid has trouble learning, find a new school or you will likely suffer the pain my family is now going thru."
