OP Fish House and Oyster Bar

"After reading all of the positive reviews, I am tossed up whether it was just a bad night or kind comments from regular customers. I will say the young lady that I had as a waitress was absolutely amazing and very attentive. Now I have no problems spending $90 for two people to eat. With that being said, though for $90, I would expect the food to be fresh edible. The signature mashed potatoes I don’t know what to think, nor say of those. It definitely was not pleasant. The shrimp that I had had a frozen taste to them not only with my meal, but also the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer. The batter used was not cooked completely. Did have a good flavor although overcooked extremely dry to the point, the salmon, I was able to eat but the mahi I could not finish wound up, spitting it back into my napkin hush puppies just like the fish was extremely dry. Collard greens were more stems than leaves, which gave it a bitter taste. I was definitely disappointed as to this place came highly recommended. Then when it comes to the cleanliness of the place, definitely can use a thorough cleaning. Dust and dirt, right where you were eating at and just about everywhere you look. Went to the bathroom. It was the exact same way. We’re leaving the bathroom. I peaked into the kitchen noticing people not wearing gloves and a huge trashcan with the whole cut in the middle of itwith just food thrown all on the top of it in the floor around it. Needless to say, I do not think I will be returning, very disappointed."

"Hands down the best place in North East Florida. I called them @ 1100 am and spoke with the manager Mrs. Jenna about making reservations and purposing to my girlfriend. Not only was she on board to help she made it perfect. From setting up and lighting over 50 candles, to playing music, and not to mention having a whole separate area set up for the main event upon our departure. All under the nose of my non suspecting fiancé. Not only was the service wonderful, the food, the atmosphere and the workers were amazing. Each worker took time to come congratulate us. Thank you so much for the memory and we will continue to dine here for the rest of our lives. 10 out of 10"

"This place doesn't look like much of a restaurant on the outside, let alone a seafood spot. But it's definitely a low-key hidden gem if you ask me! I honestly didn't know what to expect eating here! But we drove all the way from the beach in Jax to come here, which says a lot, lol.. but long story short, this place exceeded my expectations and love all the food and well worth the price of fresh seafood!"

"The food was great and so was the customer service. Jenna, the manager was very welcoming and served great drinks. Tip: Jenna doesn’t work on Tuesday or Thursday. Our waitress Abby was also very accommodating and offered great recommendations. Okay, for the food, you must try the bang bang shrimp, the cheese grits, the whole snapper, and the green beans. We also got the oysters broiled. The Captains Platter is enough for two and we subbed the standard fish and added the whole snapper instead. We’ll definitely be back."
