"I moved here in January of 2021 (when it was still Balfour Woodcrest) ….within the first week I was already having AC/HVAC issues. I submitted one work order after the next. By April, I had submitted more work orders than rent payments smh. Some orders would get attended to, others wouldn’t. Overall, the AC issues were never fully rectified. On May 8,2021(a Saturday) I returned home to a disaster. My apartment was in full blown flames. Yes y’all, a whole fire was happening in my unit. Total loss. On May 10th (the following Monday) the complex terminated my lease, claiming the fire was my fault and gave me 24 hrs to basically get the hell away. Side note, I’m from Louisiana y’all, I had no where immediate to go like that. Anywho, On May 12th is when the fire report was completed and it clearly stated that the fire was NOT caused by a human. They registered the fire as an accident and faulty wiring in the roof as probable cause, so basically my lease was terminated for nothing. I didn’t give much of a fight because I honestly didn’t have much of a fight to give. I paid a $800 deposit upon moving and when they “returned” that deposit, they sent me a check for only $77. I never cashed that check sent it back after consulting with an attorney. I asked for a detailed reasoning on the $77 and never heard from these people again. Once again, I just said forget it. It’s been 2 years now I’m back home in Louisiana but I just thought I’d share my story and experience with these people."
"This place is a joke. Jennifer moved me into a unit that had burn holes in the carpet. The carpet was used by the previous tenant and was so dirty we had to walk around with shoes on. the whole building smells like Marijuana. Mario does well with fixing things but none of my closets had doors, had to put up curtains. AC was sparking because the unit is so old and they dont have updated appliances. Jennifer will harass you and give you dirty looks even after communicating with her. So glad my lease ended. Save yourself the headache she will take your money and keep pushing back the move in date."
"DO NOT MOVE HERE. I sincerely wish I could give them one star. It has been over 6 months since I have requested my HVAC and A/C unit to be replaced (mind you this is supposed to be a renovated unit when the reality is, the A/C unit has been here for over 20 years), and they have told me over the phone they did not care about this issue and there were more pressing matters at hand. I have gotten sick over and over again due to the condition feeling like a meat locker during the winter and a sauna during the summer. Although it is fairly cheap, you get EXACTLY what you pay for AND LESS. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and pay an extra $100-$200 for a real apartment complex. UPDATE: although it took awhile, I was able to get our A/C fully repaired after only one day of work. Turns out the unit was fine but, the original contractor was negligent and forgot to reconnect a fuse. Regardless, this place isn't perfect but for the price, space, and amenities, you can do far worse for $1000/month."
"I must say that no community is perfect and they have changed management and several lease agents however this new agent Kiara is on fire with getting things done. I have had the same issue now for 2 months with no success and she literally had the problem fixed in a week. She actually came to see the issue herself and made phone calls to get it done. Also, my neighbor upstairs had several maintenance issues and Kiara handled their issues as well. I hope they give her a raise because I had lost hope on staying here but I might renew my lease again if I continue to see improvements like this. Now the price is very reasonable here and location is in a very nice and safe area, the only issues I had is maintenance but now they are improving so I'm happy so far. 3 stars and 10 stars for Kiara!"
"I had flooding in my apartment from the apartment above me and i reached out to their emergency maintenance line... I received no response. I even emailed the office for a response and still received nothing. Not only did i have to trash my items that were destroyed by the water but i also had to clean up the mess that was left behind. This is terrible customer serivce and a horrible way to treat loyal residents. Update... So 3 days later not only has the leak not been fixed but it has now spread to my bedroom closet. For the 7th day in a row my apartment continues to flood and i still haven't received any assistance or update on when it will be fixed. Now my bedroom is partially flooded so not only do i have flooding in my bathroom area but now my bedroom is flooding with water but apparently this isn't an emergency to the complex."
