"*update 01/25/2024 - there’s a new staff here, not much has changed besides that. The new leasing office team is just as unresponsive. The new maintenance crew is better, they come out much sooner to resolve issues than the past team. However, our A/C unit is STILL not working properly. And again, this has been happening since we transferred units last July. Every time we bring it up, their response is that they have to order a part. That’s been told to us for months at this point. AND the elevators have repeatedly broken down within the past few months. I look forward to my lease ending* Please read these reviews before you even think about going to that leasing office! We have lived at Atlas for almost four years, the property went completely downhill after maybe 2022. Grounds are not kept. The gym is neglected and barely any of the machines work outside of two treadmills. Garage gate is usually wide open, which has led to numerous car break-ins. Most of the lights are out in the parking garage. Doors that lead to outside the complex are barely locked or secure. The trash chutes are overcrowded and backed up, which caused a gnat/fruit fly infestation across the complex. Communication with the leasing office SUCKS. Instead of fixing actual issues, they’ll send nice/nasty emails and place the blame on residents for things that should be under control by the complex itself. If your A/C goes out, THEY ARE NOT GOING TO FIX IT. You’ll suffer in heat for months - despite A/C tickets being the “priority” according to them. But on the topic of maintenance requests, they take forever to get to them. We’ve put in requests that should be easy fixes. Yet, they’ve been pending since our transfer to our new unit in JULY. To the point that I had to fix some of them myself just to be comfortable. There are frequent late night car races right off of Parklake so be ready to hear a lot of tire burning if your apartment is facing that side. And despite their responses to reviews, Corporate does not care about anything but money. Bc if they did, they would have BEEN taken the feedback from us and done the basics to improve the community."
"I have been here over a year now and I can truly say it’s been a great experience! When I put in any maintenance request big or small it’s done within a couple of days and this is a LARGE complex so I love that. Also the maintenance staff isn’t creepy they’re super warm and knowledgeable. Even when I pass them in the hall and ask for something like a filter or whatever they get it immediately with a smile. When I did have any concerns Patience was truly the definition of her name, so kind, warm, patient and full of resources. She follows up and actually remembers important life events about you so you don’t find yourself repeating your issue over and over. The office staff has changed from when I first got here but even then I have had a pleasurably experience with whom ever I interact with. I have enjoyed it here and will be renewing ❤️"
"Please read the reviews prior to choosing to move in at the Atlas at LaVista Hills property. There are several reasons why I do not recommend leasing here: 1. The entrance gate has been broken for over a year. (Frequent car break-ins) 2. Several residents have pending work orders that go unresolved. 3. The overall presentation of the property is filthy. 4. The front office staff and property manager is continually changing and the front leasing office staff do not answer the phones. 5. High volume in crime (Dekalb county crime track is a great resource to give citizens a first hand look at the crime surrounding this property) 6. Trash chutes are always broken 7. Staff is rude and unprofessional 8. There is not a secure location for residents to receive packages. As a result, packages are stolen. 9. A/C unit was broken for over a month. Please be advised DO NOT LEASE HERE."
"Living here is mentally exhausting . I’m sure this falls on deaf ears , but people work extremely hard to live in a place that’s doesn’t value your time and money . Where do I even begin. The lack of professionalism at the leasing office is disgusting . The trash and maintenance of the apartments are never up to par . I’m embarrassed to even have visitors because of the lack of upkeep. My A/C unit barely works , at night it feels like it cuts off temporarily. I found myself in need of an urgent request because of my hot water heater flooding my apartment and there was NO urgent process or after hours maintenance crew to contact . Just a flooded apartment and no hot water . Not to mention the power has went off twice this month with no explanation or follow up to the community on the matter . But rent should never be late and paid in full , this has GOTTEN to be a joke . Maintenance requests that have went unanswered . I don’t care if its non urgent or urgent . Fixing request is apart of my service as a PAYING resident .Equal exchange if you ask me .It takes alot for me to even complain but as paying customer and veteran I’m absolutely disgusted in how this property is ran."
"If I could give this place zero stars I would. I’m not going to blame the staff. I’m going to blame the company as a whole. My shower is broken. It’s been over a month and they refused to provide any update besides, we are waiting for upper management outside of the company. So to the company that’s going to respond under this post stating “please contact management at leasing office blah blah blah” Your leasing office cannot help me. Apparently, the upper management at the company has to help me and approve my work order needs. Which is crazy because I can not use my shower. Let’s exclude the fact that I pay for something I can not use. Y’all are cheap and unprofessional. I was missing a mirror for more than three months in my bathroom. When maintenance came to put the mirror of it took less than two minutes for them to place a mirror on the wall. My AC went out three weeks 85 degrees in my apartment. My plants literally died because it was too hot And now my shower, it looks like it’s not getting fixed because no one has an answer, but we’re waiting for an approval from out of office. I have been nothing but nice to the staff even when I have not been able to use my bathroom fully since May and I pay rent every month with no issues. Do not move here, because if something breaks, Lord knows when they will fix it. There is mold in the soil. There’s mold leaking out onto the sidewalks. Fire alarm goes off randomly in the middle of the night or day. There are roaches and rats by the trash chutes that they do not clean. Please believe the pictures you see. And watch after all of this all management is going to do is respond under this post, saying please contact us at this number that they will not answer."
