"I wish there was an option for - ***. These people are Xpressly US most Thieving company from the experience I’ve had with them. If I’m not mistaken the IRS allows I think $69.00 a day for per diem. These crooks pay on a cents per mile basis. Then they pay me and then I would see like $400.00 deducted from a subsequent paycheck in the guise that they paid me too much previously for per diem. How could I be paid too much? It’s not like I submit info for payment. They did it a few times so I quit. Now my credit is affected by them saying I owe them money. I never took a cash advance from them. Which they tried to force on me even to put petrol in their truck. Then they would reclaim it with interest. ROBBERS ROBBERS ROBBERS. Stay away from US Xpress/Variant Thieves. I am seeking advice on how and if I can file a lawsuit on them for what they did. And trust me I don’t loose paperwork. I have every last paperwork for loads I hauled from 2 years ago."
"U.S. Xpress has the most rude drivers. They think anywhere is a parking spot for their truck. HOA common area "GRASS" isn't a parking spot for your truck and trailer. Truck #V10463 trailer tag 454100Z trailer 203228 and yes I have photos."
"Every major carrier has too many drivers per dm. About 50-60 drivers per dm, i'd say. This is a problem. When you got too many drivers to manage and try to help everyone out as quickly as possible, mistakes will happen guaranteed. Variant ( OTR branch of Us Xpress) is no exception. Constant mistakes with layovers, detention pay, and incorrect paid miles, and not dispatching your load is what i experienced the most. I don't blame the driver managers. I feel bad for them because they are the main point of contact when things go south and they always get the heat from the drivers when they are clearly overswamped with work. It's the management that is at fault and they seem to provide no remedy to this issue throughout my tenure here. Planners also make mistakes with customer names, paid miles, and addresses. You need to trip plan correctly and confirm the info to ensure you aren't going to the wrong place. What i found to be the deal-breaker was the fact that as a solo company driver, you don't get much miles. It averages around maybe 2200 per week on a good month. You won't get much miles as a solo otr driver which is why they pay up to 60 cpm after 2 years of driving (2 years total from all your past driving experience, not 2 years at Variant/Us Xpress). There is a freight shortage going on for the past 2 years, but there are still some carriers out there that provide good miles regardless within their regional/dedicated fleets. I couldn't find any dedicated routes in Dallas which was unfortunate. My first two trucks here had WAYYY too many issues. My first truck was replaced after a week of maintenance before i even did my first load. The 2nd truck had endless issues resulting in about a month worth of downtime. The mechanics at Dallas had some rotten apples that didn't do their job right and ironically nothing was ever fixed unless their top three mechanics finally resolved the issues. It was ridiculous. I finally got a third truck which served me well until i decided to leave the company for better opportunities. I loved the platform science that they used. It was very easy to use and the built-in gps was dependable majority of the time. I feel that if they had maybe 30-40 drivers per driver leader, things would significantly improve. You can hear it in their voices: Driver leaders are incredibly stressed out yet trying their very best to remain calm and courteous which makes my heart bleed. I wish this company the very best. They got good people working over there for the most part."
"No bonuses... mechanics are third rate, management has 3 mortgages and 5 plus vehicles when I'm a top paid mechanic and can barely afford eggs.... without mechanics there would be no trucks.... period it's time we get recognized and treated right.... I go out of my way wveryday to ensure a great speedy repair with minimal down time to the best of my ability with no financial recognition while my bosses sit in a massage chair and drive a different vehicle every day whilst barely being present and accountable for day to day tasks. Don't bother applying if your a skilled mechanic your work load will increase 10 fold while pay goes nowhere."
"Learn to teach your drivers the park illegally parked in the middle of the day. Been asked to move twice will not move and there’s 20 spots open straight laziness. Canton Ohio 9-27-23 4pm"
