"The people are great but they have an absurd policy to only accept bicycle commuter checks for on the bike gear. For example, I can buy a bike computer but I cannot buy a bike helmet. This is an REI policy not a commuter check policy. The emails from commuter check clearly states it can be used for safety gear. I guess supporting outdoors does not mean the everyday outdoor bicyclist."

"I walked in looking for some brake cable parts to make a new cruise control cable for the engine swap I did in my Excursion. Although the employees were rather confused, they were more than happy to help me and help me find what I need and get back on the road very quickly."

"Headed to REI on a Saturday to look at some hiking boots and it was a great experience. We did have to wait in line outside for about 10 minutes, but a staff member was constantly checking on those in line, giving us updates on store capacity and why she was holding us. The awareness of capacity given the pandemic and attentiveness those waiting outside were shown was superb. In the boots section, Bailey was incredible! We told her the length of hikes we are looking to do and kind of boot we are looking for. She found a variety of options for us to try on and answered any questions we had. Though we didn’t purchase boots in store, she wrote down the pair that fit best. We also took a look at day packs and a handful of jackets. Crews was helpful regarding the day packs and things to look for when trying on a pack. Everyone was so knowledgeable and helpful. Even though the store was busy, we did not feel rushed or like people were on top of us. Physical distancing was adhered to. Hand sanitizer was plentiful. Every surface was wiped down after one customer use."
