"We had a free afternoon in Ellijay, Georgia, so we decided to check out this brewery. It was located a little off the beaten path, so a little less crowded and parking was easy. I prefer cozy rustic bars over the open-air industrial warehouse atmosphere, so the small local atmsphere of this brewery was perfect to me. But dont let the size fool you, they had a good selection of beers, about 18 taps, i think. I don't usually drink fruity beers, but the bartender gave me a taste of a summertime seltzer: wild raspberry hibiscus, and it really refreshing. It was also a pretty pink color. My husband had a Bobcat Ultra Blond, a Kolsch. The beers were so good, we had two! Good service, good beer, and a really nice patio next to the Cartecay River. If I were a local, this would be my go-to place for an afternoon beer."
"Cartecay River Brewing was a lot more than we were expecting. The brewery is good sized with both indoor and outdoor areas. Indoors they had pinball, arcade, and video games that were all free. Outdoors there was a nice view of the namesake river. They had an average number of beers on tap in several different styles. What we tried was good. We also picked up bottles that weren't on tap to try. In the middle of all the wineries we didn't expect to find such a good brewery. They have a great atmosphere and good beers. They were even kind enough to can a few beers for us they normally carry that were out of stock."
