"Front desk staff need training in communication and how to build patient relationships. Way too long of a wait to see doctor, but he was pleasant and professional. However, in calling to schedule surgery, message says to expect a return call to take 48 to 72 hours. Seems like a red flag that the practice is not well managed. Based on a very poor first impression, we are going elsewhere."
"The practice as a whole is run extremely poorly. They are unacceptably disorganized. The receptionists are extremely rude. In addition, both myself and dozens of other patients were forced to wait for an hour or more past our scheduled appointment. Looking at other reviews, it’s clear that this was not a one-off experience. You pay up front, but wait so long to be seen that you might not even be able to make the appointment! That’s a textbook example of a predatory business practice. They need to get it together, and they should be ashamed. Totally unacceptable from healthcare “professionals”"
"The front office staff is absolutely ridiculous here! They are so rude and disrespectful! Scheduling and dealing with those hateful girls is the worst part and makes you want to go somewhere else. Not to mention, I have 4 kids and things slip my mind. My son needed a recheck appt. 3 of my kids had surgery on the same day and they informed me he would need the recheck. Nobody ever called to make that appt. I had to call them. Which isn't a big deal, but I forgot and still nobody called. They have records of this! I work for a dr office and we call and check on our patients all the time. It's part of your job and you would think after 3 weeks, when you're going through charts of surgeries, you would realize appts haven't been scheduled. They're just very lazy here. Side note- Dr. Ellis is amazing! He has done surgery for all four of my kids and is very polite and kind. I would recommend this provider anyday... they just need to get better control over their front desk!"
"I simply tried to make an appointment with Dr Ellis. I was on hold for 30 minutes one time!! Then, I was told to hold again for 12 more minutes. Then, I was asked why I was calling AGAIN and placed on hold for another 4 minutes. Then, I was asked what insurance. Then, placed on hold again!! Then, finally told that I needed a referral. This was probably the most inept scheduling person that I have ever spoken with. Never got an appointment."
"My first appointment experience was great. Scheduling was also not a problem. I met with the doctor and as we discussed a treatment option, he wrote his email on a business card and told me to contact him directly if I decided to proceed with treatment. He then explained that the administrative staff wasn't always responsive. Not good. Booking the followup is where I had the same problems other reviewers have posted. I received a call some days later for scheduling and was unable to answer. I called back and was placed on hold for the individual I needed to speak with. (Phones have call timers so this part isn't hyperbole) I waited on hold for ten minutes, then hung up. I called back and told them I'd been on hold for ten minutes, is anyone at that extension? I was told to hold on, then transferred. I waited another ten minutes. Then hung up and started looking for another doctor. That smooth first visit was nice, but it might have been a rarity. While I was checking in, the person helping me was also on the phone and turned to the other two people behind the desk and said, "We're holding ten calls." No one seemed to care. Since their first call to schedule a procedure for a doctor, it's now been over a week and they have not attempted to call me again to schedule, so I guess they don't care about their doctors either."
