"They only care about the money here they don’t actually care about you. Went to a couple appointments and the therapist just chit chatted with me for the majority of the time. And I work a full time customer service job, and I called and said I got stuck at work with a client so I needed to reschedule my appointment, they charged me for it. And MULTIPLE times they would schedule me for an appointment and I would put it on my calendar immediately, then when I would show up they go “no we have you scheduled for last week.” Like yeah could’ve been my mistake the first time, but this happened 4-5 times."
"I had a terrible experience here when i was younger. I was given a 400 question personality test when I was a teenager by one of the counselors here. It took me over 3hrs in a room by myself..and I had a.d.d. I didn't take it seriously of course, so I just filled in whatever on the test. Later, he tells me from what the test showed, I would grow up and suffer from severe mental and Psychological issues. Now, years later, I'm grown and I'm a pillar of mental fortitude. If you're really struggling, make sure you choose the right person to go see."
"I wish I was able to use my insurance, but a therapist I get along with and one who also accepts insurance AND new patients is hard to come by. But worth every penny for the therapist I found at New Beginnings."
"I came in to see Dr K for ADD testing! I was very pleased with him. In fact I tried to call to schedule him to by my psychologist but they said he ONLY does ADD testing. That makes me sad because he was amazing! This place is very warm and comfortable and the people are friendly. I definitely recommend!"
"Honestly, I’m quite disappointed. For 5 months I have been waiting to get into this place. They’re never able to schedule me (even for months and months in advance) because there’s no availability. I doubt they’re scheduled 5+ months out. I originally called back in July, 2021. The lady told me to call back in August because the counselors who accept insurance are not taking new patients, so I did. I then called back in August, and was told to call back in October (now 2 months out). I asked her if she could just put me on the schedule so we could stop pushing it out, she laughed and said no, rudely, and that I, “wasn’t understanding that no new patients can get on the schedule, and I can pay $95+ out of pocket for each visit if I want someone without insurance.” Rude! I even told her the very reason I kept calling this place is because it’s one of the only places who accept my insurance here in Tennessee. Called in October, and was told to try February. And at this point, I wanted to give up on this very unprofessional, unhelpful counseling group! But, making a promise to myself to work out my work/life stress, I called yesterday (in February, waiting since July) February 3rd. THe lady was extremely rude, and I told her how many times I was told to call back, & that at this point I was giving up on this counseling group. How are you about helping people, and giving them “new beginnings” if you can’t accept hardy any new patients? Insurance is so important. You need to accept those patients. It’s hard enough to reach out for counseling sometimes. Some people have a really difficult time asking for help, and for a place to deny patients? For so many months?& there isn’t even a waitlist? That’s so unprofessional. And laughing at a potential patient on the phone because they communicated with you that they’ve been waiting for months? I’m in the medical field, and that is a complete “no go” for “customer service “. I have found a really great counselor accepting patients in Chattanooga. I recommend trying absolutely anywhere else! It’s not just the insurance stuff, it’s the fact you’re treated like you’re not important, and that your mental health doesn’t truly matter. If you’d like to wait half a year waiting to better yourself, be my guest! Also, as you see, they don’t respond to their reviews, so understand, your experience and opinion doesn’t matter. Update SEPT 2022: tried again because this place is so convenient to my house, they STILL are not accepting patients with insurance. I get you want to get paid, but people’s mental health matters, and you still get paid. Very troubling place. Still happy with my current counselor in Chattanooga!"
