"That star is a NEGATIVE - ⭐️ I had my daughter with Dr.Dourron (Robert). Entire pregnancy NEVER seen his face. I asked at my first appointment if I would be meeting my delivery Dr. and was assured I would....I never met him until the day I was due to deliver. I was admitted to Northside (Growing up in DeKalb since 91'...thinking "Northside" would be a nice experience) No issues throughout my pregnancy (Nor any one of my previous pregnancies as this way my 4th! ...3 successful deliveries-- ALL of them no issues nor compilations, ALL FULL TERM...vaginal 1-3 pushes UNDER 10mins! With EACH). I regret going to this office. During labor, no issues, no alarms, not one time did a nurse or anyone need to do anything extra due to the lack of progression that was being made....until......out of the blue a nurse calmly comes into my room and says "Your baby is stressed. I will be prepping you for an emergency C-section". (I have heard my baby was stressed before while in labor with my other babies but was told to change laying positions...to get onto my knees or switch sides-- NOT ONCE was I told to change sides or anything- NEVER WAS I). My husband and I were puzzled and I was nervous. I asked the nurse "How?"..."What just happened ?" ...she walked out....came back in with Dr. Robert. He looked at me with his blue eyes.... and said "Yes, unfortunately because your baby is in distress, I will need to preform an emergency C-section..." then he walked out. I was then given a stack of papers/documents and was told to sign them...I hesitated and that’s when the nurse said " If you do not sign, then your husband will not be permitted into the OR (operating room) with you". I was so shocked and was continually rushed. I signed and ended up passing out...in and out due to the NEW medication ....after the operation I was taken to the recovery area to be monitored. I understand EACH & EVERY pregnancy and woman is different... but ever since that C-Section I have gone through sexual difficulties....extreme pain during intercourse, weakness in my left lower abdomen, and although my healing from the surgical incisions went well, I am forever changed. I am thankful for my life and the life of my daughter. However, I didn't feel settled and still don’t while reminiscing on everything. I began to do research on C-sections and which hospital performs them by number, by county, the years when they began until recently reported...Northside has the highest rate and with woman of color. I looked into how much each Dr. is paid to perform an emergency C-section versus a scheduled C-section, the numbers are unbelievable. ** Due to the changes that occur in each county/state I will not reference my data findings on this post. I also compared pricing with vaginal deliveries versus c-section/emergency c-section. On my 6 week check up I was told I was healing well (which I was) and my appointment was very short. I felt chilled looking into his eyes. Hopeless. Since my 2018 delivery with Dourron I have had a successful VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean -- C-Section). Currently turmauized as I am due 1/2024 with my 6th. So much had changed as far as getting a OBGYN-MD who is pro-vaginal at the uttermost importance without actually having prior issues/conditions that would justify a scheduled C-section or knowing what your outcome could be. God help us all."
"I wrote this review after I delivered my daughter and when I looked today saw that my review was under another doctor's office and it should have been here. I had to switch doctors after a change in insurance back in July of 2020. The front desk was a extremely nice and patient. There was a lady who did my ultrasound, she was extremely nice and the lady that did my vitals was nice too. The nurse practitioner however, I don't remember her name was rude. Also, please make sure you check your online file. They had in there that I drink and smoke weed. THAT WAS AN ABSOLUTE NEGATIVE! I told them I didn't put that there and whoever put that in there needs to change it. I didn't meet the doctor until the day I delivered. I guess he was nice enough. I have 3 other children, who were delivered elsewhere and loved the midwife. But this nurse practitioner at the dourron clinic was horrible! The nurse practitioner wanted me to do a stress test to lie FLAT on my back for 30 mins. I'm sure any pregnant woman and baby would be under stress if laying flat for 30 minutes when you are in the last trimester. I think they were going to try to get my to go into labor to have a c section or something. All my births have been natural. Thank God I heard about two black women made to do a stress test, having to have emergency c section afterwards and dying. My previous midwife told me years ago to not lie flat on my back for over 20 minutes while heavily pregnant. She was also quite ugly at my check up!!!! When I told her it was uncomfortable, she said well you have sex don't you. Yes, with my husband which is totally different!!!!! I have never felt uncomfortable during an exam! They use a metal speculum. I don't know if it was properly cleaned and to think it was used in someone else before me, makes me sick. Ladies you don't have to accept this. There are plenty of places that have different size speculums for women that are not metal and are in its own packaging. HELLO, ALL PEOPLE OF COLOR ARE NOT BUILT THE SAME IN THE INSIDE!!!!! PEOPLE OF COLOR DO FEEL PAIN!!!!!!! I feel they treat women of color like we are animals that are just breeding. They probably treat women who don't speak English really well and very young girls even worse. The Lord be willing, I will never go back there."
"I wish they had an option for zero. They is one awful obgyn I have seen. The doctor is never there. There is only a nurse practitioner there. And different ones every time. I had a scheduled c-section, and Dr. Dourron wasn't even there. A different doctor came to me, which I had never seen told me she was doing my c-section. I was so scared. Please, and please don't go here. At Northside Hospital, no doctors did a round after my c-section. This place needs to be shut down. And the wait time is ridiculous, too."
"I've been with this office for almost 5 years now and I've been on both sides of the desk as an employee (2 years) and a patient ( the last 3 years). As an employee I was impressed at the patient care they provided and the family type environment. I love how they were so thorough with care from start to finish or even after the baby arrived :) Now, as a patient, for the past few years and even with their new and improved hires, it shows they have grown in patient care as well. Dr. Robert also recently delivered my daughter via c-section and it went amazing, especially since it was a new experience for me. I was so impressed with Northside hospitals' delivery ward ( I have never been to Northside and was originally against it) and he was so comforting through the whole ordeal. I think my overall favorite in the office is Tammy :) she def. make my visits worth while relaxing and fun. I would refer this office to my friends and family, Keep Growing Dourron!"
"I love my ob gyn office. Dr. Robert, Tammy, and Ms Linda was the best they always took care of me. Checked on the kids and made sure if we needed anything. Always made me feel comfortable and at home with them at the office. It was a safe haven to have being pregnant back to back with my wild babies. I appreciate it the most. They could’ve just been doctors and nurse and do their job but instead they made the extra mile to show us that they cared and was here for us."
