East Ridge Clinic: Mark W. Bookout, MD

"Dr. Bookout's office is reminiscent of the old private practice doc. Office is in an old house, actually was his grandfathers. It could use updating and TLC, but is no indication of the reception or treatment you get from staff. They were welcoming, nice and efficient. I had to wait too long for my appt but when finally seen, I was very impressed with my care and Dr. Bookout. He is a kind, gentle and unassuming soul. I found him to be engaging and very thorough. He was very professional and even though I am not medically astute, I thought he was knowledgeable and trustworthy. I had two concerns that he addressed and after a thorough exam, we developed a plan for my care. You cannot always judge a business by reviews and even though some may have had a bad experience with this office, I found no complaints other than the wait time. I gladly recommend Dr, Bookout for ENT problems."

"Started off bad and got worse. Asked if I brought paperwork they mailed which I never received. She had a bad attitude and more or less accused me of lying. After filling out all the paperwork and turning it in she asks for custody papers from the court for my biological daughter. I have not had a custody battle over my daughter therefore no papers exist but she states no surgery can be performed without them. Bookout had already taken out my daughter's tonsils years ago and one grew back. We left without seeing him. I will go to Nashville if I have to."

"Dr. Bookout is a phenomenal ENT doctor. My daughter has a great connection with him and thinks he is just the greatest thing ever. We appreciate how chill and informative he is with us. Very laid back, honest, and open to any questions. I think he could do these surgeries in his sleep! I was nervous about having the surgery done at TC Thompson because of How bad Erlanger has gone down, but we were truly blessed with the best nurses and staff, AND not to add :) but there was 0 judgement in the agreement of the terrible affects Tylenol has on the body as well. Yay!"

"My nine month old son has had countless ear infections and was scheduled for tubes with dr. Bookout. On the day of surgery he canceled my son as a patient because he was sick with a virus two weeks before the surgery date. Well instead of rescheduling him, the doctor cancels him as a patient for whatever reason we were left in the dark. No phone calls, nothing! This doctor and his staff should be ashamed of themselves. My son has been miserable and sick from then on and still on a waiting list for tubes at another office!"
