Fairfield Inn by Marriott Dothan 3038 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL 36301

"The worst Marriott I have ever stayed at. I would skip the free breakfast and avoid this one and stay at the Courtyard right nextdoor. Marriott should sell this property and get their name off a place like this. There was a miscommunication when I called to reserve 9 rooms. I stayed it multiple times but apparently she only heard 2 rooms but they were able to accommodate us. The first thing I noticed was the smoke smell when waking into the building. And then it smelled even more like smoke when entering my room. But let's go back to when I couldn't get into my room because the door wouldn't open because the latch on the door frame only had 1 loose screw in it and you had to open the door in a special way to keep it from jamming. After entering my room I noticed the name on the TV was not my own but someone else's name and so I asked the attendant at the desk about it when I went back down and she assured me that my Bonvoy number was on the room. Something that I found in the morning when talking to the assistant manager that it not MY Bonvoy number. 2 of the lamps did not work because the light bulbs were out. The fire sprinkler in the bathroom was so badly rusted that the paint was falling off. Just a general lack of detail for what you would expect from a Marriott. The only reason I didn't got with 1 Star is the way the manager handled the situation when I couldn't get into my room she waited me up to help me force the door open and she me how to get in. But I also feel like I got the "brush off the shoulder" with my concern about my room not linked to my Marriott account."

"Ms Q in the kitchen made my stay much better than it would’ve been. She was very kind and helpful to every guest in the breakfast area and kept everything nice and clean through the breakfast time. That’s a very tough thing to do during the morning rush in a small area but she had everything organized, clean and fully stocked so every guest walked in like they were the first guest! Thank you Ms Q!!"

"Fairfield Hotels are usually nice, clean, you felt safe. This one in Dothan, AL, was not any of those. Made reservations went there and refuse to stay. Didn't refund me, whatever I was not staying there. As I said, Fairfield has always been nice. This one is not."

"We arrived at Fairfield late in the evening and had to wait about 15 minutes before anyone came to the front desk. Once they got there they were courteous and took care of us in a timely manner. We didn’t notice until the next morning but the bathroom ceiling was covered with black mold. We mentioned this when we were checking out and the only thing the lady did was take pictures of it that my husband took with his phone. The breakfast was delicious though and the dining room was clean."

"DIRTY. My room smells like latex paint, and the ac barley pushes any air, so the air is stale and muggy. I don't know why the room smells like paint. It was not freshly painted unless they added dirt to the walls after the paint dried. The hotel is old and needs to be completely remodeled. Better ac will pull moisture out of the air and prevent the air from being muggy and reduce the smell. This can all be fixed if the owner cares to improve the hotel. To add insult to injury, I'm stuck in a crappie hotel room with a broken TV. I have tinnitus, so my ears will be ringing all night. The TV helps me block out the ringing. I booked the room for 6 days, but I'm checking out in the morning and moving down the road."
