Holiday Inn Express Tallahassee-University Central, an IHG Hotel

"Not the quality we are used to from the IHG brand, especially at the price we paid, $148. Would not recommend staying at this location unless you are desperate. The entrance getting into the hotel is not convenient. They did have well lit open and garage parking available once you got through the maze. Our first room had a very stale smell and the heat didn't work; we stayed during a cold snap. After a visit to the front desk, we were provided a new room down the hall. It still had a very stale smell, but the heat worked. The shade, however, did not close all the way. After over 9 hours of driving, we settled and didn't feel like moving rooms or finding another hotel late in the evening. We did have hot water for good showers, but everything needed a deep clean and refresh. The bathroom did not feel clean, with hair on the tub/tile. Since the window shade didn't close, the room stayed bright all night. Between the light in the room and the constant noise from the roads and other guests, it was not a restful night. The breakfast was the typical fair, slightly less variety. The pancake machine was broken. Unfortunately, the only positive comments i have are the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and there are many resturants in walking distance. Won't be back to rhis location."

"We came in town for thanksgiving and all got bit up by the bed bugs int his hotel. After looking at other reviews prior to writing this review it appears this same hotel had a bad infestation of bed bugs before with another guest. My wife and I have multiple bits and were itching all night. This property will not be a smart choice for us ever again."

"This is the worst Holiday Inn I have stayed in for the last 10 years. The rooms are mediocre, but the ppl on the front desk are all rude and mean. They placed the chips near the front desk, but they hid the price tag on an unseen corner on a vending machine 6 feet away, making you think the chips are complementary, then they jumped out and charge you for money, and even criticized you for not seeing their price tags hiding in the corner on a vending machine 6 feet away. The printer does not work, the staff does not help at all, the guy on the front desk is just sitting in the back room playing, you asked him any question, he does not have a single answer. Especially the guy on the front desk, he has never been able to answer any question or help with anything. He even asked me to go ahead to complain about this hotel and he does not care. He should get fired right away!!!"

"The rooms are kinda clean but the towels are yellowish not white. You don’t get enough of them. Also after I got out of the shower and looked down at the toilet…. It was nasty! Last but not least the little tiny bottle of shampoo, conditioner and lotion was used. The front desk people and the cleaning staff was nice."
