Henry County Animal Shelter

"Update:: I called them 12/18/23 to come remove the dog off the property while I was home. Need to see the effort put into catching and removing this dog. Henry County Police department reaches out to me. The officer came to the house to wait for them to pull up. The officer then saw where they removed themselves from the route, and she dispatched them to come to my residence. The officer arrived to get the dog but had an attitude. She didn't even want to get the dog. I'm thankful the officer was here to make sure thar dog was removed. These people are so useless. I've called sthem out twice to pick up a stray dog. Each tie3me they called, stating, "They couldn't ceedeeaeeeeeeedtceh the dog because it kept backing up." They dtddold me that I would have to put this dog in my car and bring him or her. Why in the hell would I put a stray dog in my back seat? Is it not your job to get catch stray animals? Hire people who are going to get the job done. This is a freaking puppy; I'm calling you guys to catch this stray. Apparently, because I haven't been home once to actually witness the attempt, they can't be putting in any effort."

"I dropped a cat I’d found off to do a cat hold, to be safe. Dropped him off Thursday, the animal was perfectly heathy. I intended to keeping the cat after 7 days. When I called to check on the cat on Tuesday, I was met with short responses and really unhelpful answers. Upon retrieving my cat from the shelter, he was very sick and needed to be taken to the vet. If they had told me he was sick on Tuesday I could have had an appointment set up, but they didn’t and I couldn’t. I don’t see any reason why a shelter should be letting there animals get sick and be letting people adopt sick animals. Don’t drop animals off at this shelter!!!"
