"I have been going to the Kennesaw location for many years but the last 3 times I have made an appointment it has been horrible. The 1st time it went sideways was a year ago or so, I made an appointment, got to the salon, and sat there for several minutes only to be told it was graduation day and they had no one to service me. The next time I showed up and I waited almost an hour with an appointment. This last visit I was excited to get a style and brow wax....got my style but when it was time to get my brow wax I was told everyone in the wax room was on break and I would need to come back the next day. I told the receptionist I could'nt do that and she sad she had no one to do my brows. It was 7:30 they were closing at 9. As I walked out the door very unhappy and frustrated because I always make an appointment, the wax team walked back into the building together and went into the waxing room. I won't be back. I feel as though Health and Style has went down hill and really doesn't care about customer service at all. Which is sad because I used to love this place and refer them all the time."
"This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a salon school. I had an appointment for an updo and manicure scheduled for 5:30. I sat waiting for a student stylist to do my hair until 7pm. When the student, Tamia, finally came to do my hair she stated that she was only able to do one service so which one do I want. I chose the updo and asked why she was only able to do one of my services when I was told that she was going to do both. She told me that she does not have the time to do it anymore. (It took her over an hour to flat iron above the shoulder hair)She asked to see the style that I wanted, which was flat twist and curls. She immediately rolled her eyes and ask her instructed to come over. I showed her the picture again, while the instructor came over, and the instructor went over it, and I agreed that it was probably something she could do. I asked the instructor why she was unable to do my manicure at which time Tamia stated that she was not going to do either one now. Tamia, whose unkempt appearance matched her attitude was perturbed that I had the audacity after waiting two hours to ask why she could not do my manicure too . The instructor whose name I did not catch but had poorly maintained gold box braids told me that the reason why Tamia probably did not want to do my hair was because I asked a question and it seemed like I thought that she was lying. That explanation was absolutely asinine , but it gets worse. The instructor pretended to go try to find someone else to do my hair, but went to the front to explain to whom I could only imagine was the school manager about what happened. I interjected, because I knew that the gold haired instructor was relaying the exchange in a manner that did not reflect Tamia's attitude or her unwillingness to see it from a client's perspective. The gold braided instructor also informed me that she has a salon and that the question I'm asking at a student institute does not reflect the question that could be asked at a regular salon again another asinine explanation. Honestly, I was more infuriated with the instructor, as Tamia appeared to be ignorant and reactionary as a lot young girls can be when they have not had proper guidance. The instructor however, failed to acknowledge the wait time, the unprofessionalism of Tamia, while also displaying her own unprofessionalism. She was passive aggressive and did absolutely nothing to try and rectify the situation. She was combative and repeatedly stated that the way I was relaying the story was "not the way it happened". Essentially, implying I was lying. There is no way that this woman owns a successful salon, nor should she be overseeing students as she was devoid of basic customer service skills. I caution you to come to this school for services. Aveda is much more pleasant, they use quality products, you are not waiting an indeterminate amount of time without explanation and they offer a clean environment, with top notch customers service."
"This was my first visit. Isabella was lovely and did a nice job on my son’s hair so I recommend her. TL;DR it’s good value for the prices but you’ll need patience and something to read. We waited for over 30 minutes to be called back even with having made an appointment, and the front desk staff was not there so I was not able to purchase the hair gel that she used on his hair. I assume those are related to staffing issues that many retail and service places now have. One of the desk staff members arrived as we were about to leave but she couldn’t find the gel in their system to check me out. Tip for those paying by credit card - ask them to add the tip amount before running your card."
"The older black lady instructor with the short hair be arguing with students in front of clients. Students get mad and yell at 5 year olds for crying when getting their hair done. Yeah they ratchet in the hair dept. I wouldn’t not recommend. Just spend the extra money and go to a professional."
"I went here for a haircut, highlights & low lights. I received the best haircut and color that I have ever received. The up and coming hairstylist Chloe was so good. Her detail to color was amazing. She took her time to make sure that every detail was excellent. I can't thank Chloe enough. My hair looks amazing!! Thank You! Thank You!!"
