"I found this shop by Google search and took a chance bc I really needed my hair done lol. My hair is extreme thick and tight and it's always hard to find someone to do braids correctly. When I tell you I'll never go anywhere else?? Not only did I have minimal shedding/breakage, but my braids lasted over 3 months and that had NEVER happened before! Usually I'm pushing it if I make it past 6 weeks. I highly recommend this place!!"

"I am so glad I found this salon! I was able to get an appointment with Ms. Irene very quickly. She shampooed and deep conditioned my hair because of damage caused by my previous salon, before braiding. She took such great care of my hair. I got small to medium box braids down my back. She also mixed in blonde hair with the braids. My hair looks so pretty! I receive compliments everywhere I go, and a lot of ladies have stopped me to ask who braided my hair. I will definitely be a repeat customer."

"Needed my hair braided on short notice (It was Friday at 4pm). Called 4 different salons who were way overpriced and very dismissive, but when I called Kycydra Braiding salon and spoke to Irene, she was open to squeezing me in at 6am the next day and gave me a reasonable price for what I wanted. I arrived at 6am and saw her walking into the salon. She immediately sat me down and started to prep me. I told her that I wanted large waste length braids although my hair is cut very short (2.5 inches at best). She told me that she would recommend doing small/med braids so that my hair looks neat and would last longer due to its short length. I was hesitant because thinner braids in my mind meant sitting for more hours and an up charge in price that I wasn’t expecting. But I liked the fact that she was honest especially since this would technically be more work for her. So I said yes and prayed for the best. She told me that we would be done by 10am and once 10am came, I was sending her my payment. My braids were neat. My edges were out the way and laid just like I asked, and I didn’t have a headache due to tightness, although they were tight enough. Overall I was very happy! OH! And she didn’t change the price! What she quoted me Friday was exactly what I paid, which from personal experience almost never happens in other braiding shops. Unfortunately about a 1.5wks later, a few braids began to come out due to the weight of the braids on my very short hair. It was only 4 braids or so but I figured that I would call and see if she would be willing to fix them for me. I didn’t receive any pushback, no attitude, only a pleasant, sure come on in. Went back and she filled in the braids plus redid a few that she wasn’t satisfied with. She essentially did a retouch to make sure that my neat and clean braids continued to remain that way - and she didn’t charge me for it. I didn’t expect her to because she really is a kind spirit, but it was nice to know that she was willing to fix the issue with no complaint. This is a lengthy review so I’ll just summarize by saying that I’m SO glad that I found this salon! I will definitely be back and will recommend them to others. It’s rare that you find people who take pride in the quality of work that they do and this is even more so important when it comes to black hair. I appreciate Irene for catering to me as a customer and treating my hair as delicate as she would her own. She’s not going to try to upcharge you for services, she truly just wants to do quality work."

"I was nervous because I'm extremely tender-headed and this was my first time going to her but my experience was great. I got a wash and box braids and I was in and out in a little under 4 hours for small/medium braids that were waist length. The braids were super neat but not too tight thankfully. I was able to pull them back and turn my head without pain. As she was doing my hair she kept checking in with me that she wasn't braiding too tight which I greatly appreciated. Will definitely be back."

"Although it was Tuesday, I was able to get a same day appointment. I got small/medium box braids that are lower waist length. My service included the hair. My braids were installed beautifully, and were not too tight. It’s next day and I was able to sleep very comfortably and have no signs of bumps or redness due to my hair being braid too. The ladies were very professional and the space was clean. It took 4 hours to complete the install and at times I had multiple ladies braiding my hair. I was still able to be comfortable during this time). I will definitely be back and would recommend them for other braiding services. The price was reasonable and I love my hair. They offer take down services and are a full service salon. She also sales beautiful African clothing, accessories and jewelry. There was 2 other tween girls receiving services who appeared to be having a similar experience as me. My post is so lengthy because I want to ensure others reading my post get a thorough review."
