"Let me start by saying we LOVE Dr. Shaffer’s personality. He is wonderful with my daughter. He preformed a procedure on her and all went smoothly with the surgery (not camc but that’s a different issue)… until we got home. She has some sensory issues so there’s very few things she will eat or drink and was refusing anything. Dr Shaffer only prescribes Tylenol for post op pain. After two days of no food/drink I called his office to see if there was any other option at which point they said “no, we only prescribe Tylenol and refer parents to the ER for dehydration/pain if the Tylenol is not managing the pain” so there is no middle ground -other options, Tylenol or ER for a very very young child. If your child needs a surgery I’d suggest going with another doctor who is more willing to work with children’s sensory issues and post op pain management."
