"I strongly suggest finding a different doctor. My experiences with Manuel Molina were not good. My 57 year old mother had one of her hips removed, and was kept 72 hours for observation. It wasn’t perfect, but it helped her enough to get around. Fast forward one year… Her other hip started hurting. So she scheduled another surgery. I went to a few of her appointments for the second surgery, and was kind of taken aback at Molina’s dry and arrogant disposition. Some doctors are nice, bubbly, and considerate. It just felt like she was a number, and he wanted to get her in & out as fast as humanly possible. But my mother was sold on him… hook, line, and sinker. The day of the second surgery, they called at 6:00 am wanting her to come early. Basically told her she had to come early or reschedule the surgery. It wasn’t scheduled to take place until the afternoon, but when you’re in that kind of pain, you do what you’ve gotta do to get better. When we got to the hospital, he was very lackadaisical, almost annoyed. I didn’t have a good feeling about it. So she has the surgery, and she calls me (literally) 20 hours after having her bone sawed off and replaced with a metal rod, and told me they were discharging her early. She wasn’t feeling well, and BEGGED them to let her stay. And of course, no one told either of us that they weren’t keeping her the full 72 hours like the year before. If they HAD, I could have requested off from work, and been by her side the whole time. The surgery was on a Tuesday, so since they kept her 3 days the year before, I requested that Friday off, and the whole next week too. Despite telling them that she had an excruciating headache, it meant nothing to them. So the surgery was on Tuesday, they discharged her on Wednesday, and died from a blood clot on Thursday. Not one person from Thomas Hospital or Manuel Molina’s office called to apologize for sending her home early, nor did they even send their condolences. If I was a hospital administrator or Dr Molina himself, I know I would have. I have absolutely ZERO doubt that she would have lived, had they kept her the 3 days like the year prior. A lot of people cared about my Mom. ME most of all. Molina and Thomas’s lack of compassion unfortunately has left a giant scar that will never fully heal. Don’t make the same mistake my Mom made when she put her faith in Molina & Thomas Hospital. Find another doctor because it could be the difference between life and death."
