"Been homeless since march, they gave me a voucher for like $400-$500. Cheapest rental in greenwood county $1200. So why can’t I get approved on any rental and stuck sleeping on the streets bc nobody in SC will pay enough to get approved for a rental. So get me in touch with those 20 Mexicans living in one house so I can use the voucher there or fund enough for me to live without electricity and hot water. You can’t even find a bug infested place in the hood for that amount of money"

"Nice low income apartments with some really good people that care about their neighbors! Only thing is, it takes a very long time to get into one of these places especially the 1 bedroom apartments because everybody seems to want them and once inside they don't tend to leave mainly because you can't beat a $2 rent per month and they're down to earth people in the office I just wish the list moved faster!"

"It doesn't look like section 8 is not an option in greenwood county. That's just really sad that people have to be on a waiting list for over two years to get into a home. It seems to me that there should be funds set aside to help people who can't afford adequate housing. The prices that the landlords (know why they are called"lords") charge these days is absolutely ridiculous. It should be against the law to rent some of these places I have seen. Good luck to everyone in greenwood trying to find decent affordable housing. I thing i will just move on somewhere else. Thanks"
