"We had a bad experience living here. Many dogs off leash, making it difficult for me to feel comfortable taking our reactive dog out safely. Sound travels freely between units, especially from the second floor to the first floor. Once we made a public complaint, management was unhelpful and ignored our maintenance requests. Many first floor tenants we talked with experienced similar issues with noise and lack of support from management. The location, building aesthetics, and amenities are good, but for us the bad heavily outweighed the good."
"We hadn't rented for more than 30 years. We moved to Greenville a few years ago and are waiting for our new home to be built. Getting back into the renting scene was a challenge until we found Elements West. We wanted something close to downtown that would give us the space we needed. Elements West offered that plus so much more. We're in our second unit at Elements West. In our years here, we have found: - the historic nature of the place is pretty awesome. What they've done to keep the look and feel while providing updated features has been great. They've taken an old, run-down cotton warehouse and have converted it into modern living with historic wood timbers, wood ceilings and floors on the second level, exposed brick and classic styled windows. - the amenities are a plus and are never crowded. We really enjoyed being able to end the day with our feet in the pool chasing down a cold one. And we've used the common "Classing Room" to entertain on occasion. - location is excellent. Short walk to Fluor Field and downtown. - tenants are really friendly. - there are train tracks right next to the place. I love a train, but not everyone else does. Our experience has been that we get used to it and tune it out. We've lived on a fire route before and we did the same for the sirens. The train only passes about 2-4 times per day. Not a deal breaker for us. - management is helpful and responsive. - quick travel to get onto 85 to Atlanta. - we don't have pets, but people are generally pretty courteous about cleaning up after their pets. You will always have some entitled few that think the rest of the world is there to pick up after them, but they usually get rent increases that chase them off. One change we've had to make is regarding noise. When living in our own houses in the past, we didn't have to encounter too much noise (except for our daughters' teenage years). So, apartment life was going to be different. We have heard neighbors and they've heard us, but it's never been too much to deal with. We expected some sound to pass between units. When we researched apartments to live in, the reviews we read all mentioned that you can expect that with apartment life. Two last mentions: - parking is safe - plenty of spaces close to the building. - Irma keeps this place spotless - she is so committed to providing a great place to live. I totally recommend this place to anyone looking to rent near downtown or the Historic West End."
"Current tenant. The noise from upstairs is horrendous. I was told that the upstairs would be carpeted but it clearly isn't. The wooden floor of the upper floors is directly the ceiling of the lower floors. There is no sound proofing and I doubt there is any fire insulation/protection (sub ceiling/floor) as well, not sure how they got past the building codes in Greenville. I can hear everything from water drops to treadmill, people slamming weights and dogs scurrying around. The apartment is pet friendly but many people leave big dogs off the leash and don't clean up after their pets. The management (I talked to Case Johnson) blatantly lies and does not follow through with actions. The location is good and the rooms themselves are nice and historic but the abhorrent noise from upstairs makes me not want to come back home. (I also think that they've been deleting reviews with less stars or comments about noise, hard to believe that an apartment complex only has 8 reviews 3 years)"
"I just moved back to Greenville maybe 3 + months ago and moved in with my boyfriend. We love it here. I’m having a hard time finding anything wrong other than the usual noise of neighbors. You can walk downtown or to the Fluor field. Very dog friendly, tall ceilings, security"
"Lived here for two years and really enjoyed my time here. The property was always clean and maintained, and the property manager Case was awesome with communication and getting problems solved! Super pet friendly as well which is always a huge bonus! Definitely would live there again in the future."
