"I don’t often leave reviews, but I felt compelled to leave this review. I chose to live at the Link West End, because I came from another Link complex in North Carolina and absolutely LOVED my experience there. The Link Brookstown was one of the best places I lived and their staff was very warm and welcoming, so it felt like a normal transition to come here. But boy was I wrong… From day 1 it’s been miserable and I cannot wait until this lease ends so that I can go elsewhere. I currently live in a 1 bed/1 bath and pay $1785 (+utilities)/month. This is absolutely not worth the price you are paying. You’re paying $1785 for limited to no amenities, coffee machines that is broken sometimes, and elevators both of which are broken from time to time. I’ve outlined a few items that I feel like are relevant for anyone interested in moving here: 1. Moving-in is less than ideal - you have to set up an appt to have your moving truck in the loading dock area and the elevators are very small and we had trouble moving in my bed and other large furniture. I’ve heard other people express the same frustrations as well. 2. Speaking of the elevators, the whole complex only has 2 elevators, which okay whatever, but since moving in in July they are BOTH constantly having issues and alternate on being out of service, especially the freight elevator. 3. This just recently happened this weekend, but the gate to leave the parking deck broke and was stuck as I tried to leave. Fortunately, there was a gentleman around who was able to lift up the gate and hold it while I drove out, otherwise I would’ve been “trapped” in the deck and unable to use my car to go anywhere. 4. There are NO visitors parking spots. So it’s annoying because I pretty much never have anyone over due to there being nowhere to park. Having come from another downtown Link location, you would expect a few visitors spots in such a large complex located in downtown Greenville. 5. Before I moved here, I had to update my renters insurance policy to include whatever PO Box address they wanted it to show, which I did. I literally wouldn’t have been able to move in without having made that change. Shortly after I moved in, the front office sent out emails saying that residents who didn’t have this PO Box included on the declarations page of their insurance would be charged $50 (non-refundable). I didn’t think anything of it, because I had already done what was requested… To my surprise, in September I was charged the $50 fee. While I did have the charge reversed, it was annoying that I had to literally stay on top of my bill, otherwise they would’ve gotten away with $50 and I would’ve been none the wiser. I didn’t know this prior to moving, but apparently we’re also charged an $8.95 monthly credit reporting fee, which is bogus to me. If you live here, definitely stay on top of your monthly statements. 6. In the history of places I’ve lived in, I have NEVER reported someone for a noise complaint. Unfortunately, I was placed in a unit underneath people who have dogs and who themselves are very active during the day. I hear every single sound the dog makes and that the individuals make — I’m still unclear what it is that they do all day. But from 5 am to well past 2 am I hear them. I requested that the front office reach out to them just to provide a friendly reminder that people do live under them. Nothing ever came of that and I’m absolutely miserable hearing every thing for 21 hours a day. I sleep with earplugs in and besides the fact that we have no visitors parking, people don’t come over because it’s always uncomfortably loud upstairs to where it’s not enjoyable being here. 7. Lastly, from college until now every single place that I’ve ever lived gives you a checklist when you move in so that you can mark items that may be damaged in your apartment, so that you’re not charged upon move-out. This place doesn’t do that for whatever reason and all I know is I will not be paying a dime of anything upon move-out. Please look elsewhere in downtown Greenville"
"shame on this company. I can’t even have my daughter visit me without her car getting a ticket saying it will be towed by this office staff. Don’t lease here. AC is always going out, roaches are everywhere, yes it is dog friendly (minus breed restrictions) but the owners keep them off leash and the use the bathroom in the hallways. The colors are nasty. I genuinely wished I leased at ellison or even Rhett. You’d think how much they charge in extra fees and how much they make in commission, they’d do more upgrades even new colors to this building, let alone… allow our guest to park in b2 or something. I can’t order delivery either or groceries because they don’t have parking spots for them and they’ll be towed. I truly am unhappy here and I wish I could break my lease… but unfortunately it’ll cost in total 4 months rent. And office staff, don’t respond back to this asking for me to contact the office about my concerns. I have in the past and it’s clear others have as well. Fix the parking issues. Listen to your customers"
"Tried to visit someone and the office said guest can’t park in the garage and future residents spots were taken but they also said I couldn’t park there even if they were opened. Very bad business in my opinion. Offer your guest some parking options. Don’t come here if you want elevators that break down all the time or random fire alarms. Go somewhere up the road"
"i’m not a happy resident. They just sent a notice out to let everyone know only residents can park in the garage and future residents in the 3 Spaces up front. Our guest have no where to park, delivery people don’t have anywhere to park. Nothing. They won’t even allow our guest to park in b2. I have my girlfriend and family visit me frequently so where are they supposed to park? I’ve called every other complex downtown and asked about their visitor policy and there is at least somewhere our guest can park with out being threatened to be towed. If the office doesn’t send an updated email in 48 hours ( the same timeframe they gave us to fix the visitor parking and tags) I will be using having every one of my friends copy and paste this for 1 star review. I will also be contacting the other communities downtown to let them know this so when people are touring, those communities can tell everyone who is looking at link apartments to be warned about the ridiculous parking issues. For how much I pay for a 2 bedroom and have to pay for parking, youd think they would accommodate their lovely residents more. 0/10 stars. Maybe they’ll take the money they rack up in rent and put it towards fixing the elevators to not break down when people are inside or stop the constant fire alarms going off in the middle of the night"
"Great moving in experience. The staff is amazing! Special thanks to Amy! Love my apartment. The building has great features, but reasonably priced. Location is steps away from several pubs, food, boutiques, a spa, etc. So excited to live here!!"
