Holiday Inn Express & Suites McDonough, an IHG Hotel

"The front desk manager, Ms. Wendy is a gem! As a surprise, I gifted my toddler a hotel stay for Christmas as it's been of interest to them for months. I called ahead to request a small chocolate or treat for our room upon arrival and not only did Ms. Wendy get the treat to our room, she printed a personalized welcome letter AND created a a scavenger hunt to find an additional treat! To be honest, I was so excited for my kiddo that the rest of the day I only looked for the good. We spent some time enjoying the fitness center and heated pool before turning in for bed. I'm a fan of breakfast (and eating lol), so the next morning I was a little disappointed... that the food delivery truck was running behind and there was a very limited selection of food. The pancake machine was malfunctioning and there were more guests than available options, so everything was on hold or out of stock. Housekeeping was sweet and maintenance seemed helpful. There were really small bugs in and around the sink area, but I didn't use the sink and they weren't anywhere else. They weren't in the fridge, which was directly underneath, so I'm guessing a previous guest spilled coffee or put something sweet down the drain. Overall, I've veen very pleased with my stay thus far. I hope breakfast will be much better in the morning, but if not, we've had an amazing time!"

"Our room was musty and humid. We turned on the air conditioner, and you could see mold inside of it.i called the office. The young man tried to get us another room but they were full. There was no maintenance person available to clean the air conditioner. He contacted management and they offered to get us into a different hotel. It was late at night and we were too tired to load up the car and go somewhere else so just stayed. Woke up congested the next morning. No discount was offered or points given back, which was disappointing. We won't be stopping there again."

"Great rooms. We had the large occupancy room 5 people. The room sleeps six w/ 2 queen beds and a queen convertible sofa on the first floor right across from the gym and pool rooms. There is a Chic Fila next door. The staff was very friendly. The only downside was the vehicular traffic in the area on County Rt 20 and Intrastate 75."

"Holiday Inn Express & Suites located in McDonough, Georgia is really poor. It seems to currently be a work in progress. They currently have renovations ongoing. The IHG website didn’t list that information. The first room they put us in was unacceptable due to the A/C was extremely LOUD and making weird noises it shouldn’t be making. The next room they put us smelled bad due to them just finishing up the new flooring in the room. But we decided to keep it. At least the A/C didn’t sound like it was going to explode. The employees are very friendly and professional. The cleanliness of the hotel is very poor. There is trash everywhere. Our room had stained bed linen and our room hasn’t been dusted in a very long time. The office chair in our is also not working properly. They apologized for the current condition of the hotel. The price is very high considering the condition of the property. At this time we do not recommend this hotel."

"My weekend from the check-in time to checkout was nothing but amazing. The weekend staff was absolutely fantastic. The breakfast menu was my best experience of all Holiday Inn Express that I have ever stayed.. The hotel is in a great location within short driving to many major attractions and shopping. I will stay there again."
