Market Pavilion Hotel

"An adequate and ok hotel for location if needed. Nothing to make anyone want to come back. Staff is good. Rooms are outdated but drastically lacking. No surprise considering clientele average an age of 60+ (based on sitting for an extended period of time waiting for my ‘king room’ to be ready). See photo for a great view for $300+. Probably have saved quite a bit if I’d self park."

"The rooms, facilities, rooftop bar and location of the hotel are all awesome. However our check in process and the follow up from management was unacceptable for a $500 night hotel. I called ahead around 130 and asked for an early check in, was told that the room may or may not be ready but guaranteed by 4pm. Got there at 315 and was told we couldn't check in until 4 as it wasn't ready yet, which was fine. However when we came back at 4pm for the room we were strung along and told 5/10 more minutes several times before we were finally given the room a little before 5. Asked to speak to a manager about our dissatisfaction and was told by the front desk that she was getting off soon so she couldn't do it but she would pass it along to the next worker. Never heard from management, followed up again the next day and was told the manager was too busy with the restaurant to speak with us and that they would call when they got a moment. Now days later and still haven't heard from the hotel."

"I am appalled and shocked by the horrendous service we received at this hotel over the weekend. It is extremely overpriced for what you get, but I can overlook the dark and depressing lobby and very outdated rooms. What I cannot get over is the way we were treated. The employees at check-in did not even look up from computers to greet us or check us in. We were told check-in was at 4:00 and then at 4:20 we were told they didn’t guarantee a check-in time. I asked to speak to the manager and he was equally rude. I called this morning to ask for the general manager’s name, and the employee I spoke with would not give me his name or email until I pushed the issue. She then hung up on me because I couldn’t understand what she was saying his last name was. A Motel 6 would treat their guests better than this! No one at check-in nor the concierge would give guests eye contact. 7 guests ~ 3 separate check-ins ~ were in the lobby all dealing with these rude and unprofessional employees. I still cannot believe it, especially considering the cost of this hotel. The bellmen were friendly and housekeeping ladies were precious! No one else, and I will never stay here again!!! I will share my experience with everyone! Horrible guest service!!!!!!"

"A superb hotel. We stay with them every time we are in Charleston. The rooms are wonderfully appointed. The coffee in the hall is divine. The patio bar is exceptional. Above all, the service is impeccable"

"Fantastic long weekend stay. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the beverages and morning breakfast provided on our floor. The hotel is perfectly located near shopping and restaurants. We walked to the pier several times and it wad a very short walk. The roof top bar was also great for drinks before heading out for dinner. We enjoyed sunsets from there and the weather was great for laying out by the pool. We are looking forward to staying there again our next time in Charleston."
