"Stayed in the Charleston room. I found it to be pretty consistent with how it was described and pictured on the website. The room was larger than expected and would work well for two people, depending. The private bathroom in the room is essentially a small bathroom with a shower head installed (similar to what I've encountered in Morocco). There is no tub or other separation so when taking a shower you can expect for the bathroom floor, sink, and other surfaces to get wet. This could be an inconvenience if someone showered and you came behind them to use the toilet. You'd be entering a room that's all wet! I'd recommend bringing shower shoes and then changing into the slippers that are provided in the room. Some improvements I'd recommend are: 1. The pillows on the bed are overdue for replacement. They were severely flat and offered no comfort or support. 2. The linens on two of the four pillows had enough stray hair and other debris that I questioned whether they had been laundered after last use or had fallen on the floor. This type of thing makes my skin crawl so I wasn't as comfortable in the bed due to this and the flattened pillows. I covered the clean pillow with my satin pillowcase and chose to focus on other aspects of my visit versus contacting the hosts about replacements. 3. After booking the room 7 days out, I didn't receive a communication from the hosts until the day before my arrival. Sending a quick confirmation message within 24 hours of booking would be helpful. It's one thing to know you got charged for a reservation. It's another thing to know that you actually have a confirmed reservation. Overall, I found the whole inn to be nice and quaint with a fair amount of outside noise due to the location. Accessing the room was easy, there were snacks and earplugs in the foyer, there was a welcome kit in the room (wine, slippers, beach towel, etc.), and the hosts were hospitable and complete in their communications."
"Amazing! We stayed in the Gallery Suite so we had our own (beautifully updated) private bathroom. The suite was very nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable, the A/C kept us very cool on a hot July week, and there were plenty of “above and beyond” touches that pleasantly surprised us. The inn’s location is great and very walkable too. It’s right next door to Gnome Cafe which is super convenient to start the day. Karen was also so kind, communicative, and helpful! This stay definitely made our trip to Charleston that much more memorable! Highly recommend."
"Parson Inn has been a great stay for my work travels to Charleston. My most recent stay was in the Van Gogh Room, Downtown Charleston. Perfect location to experience the distant sounds of the city and the privacy of a vacation getaway. Because of home schooling, I travel with my daughter and she adores this place. Great stay and great sleep."
"Had such a great experience! Right from the start the owner, Karen, was so communicative and helpful. I stayed in the Blues room and it was just as the pictures showed. So cute! and there was wine and snacks on my bed when I checked in! The only thing I was surprised by was that the bathroom was down a flight of steps instead of right outside the room but that was not a big deal. Great location walking distance to King St but in a quiet area with off-street parking. I took advantage of the keurig in the room and the comfy chairs on the porch. They unexpectedly had to fix the AC while I was staying there and Karen went above and beyond for the whole thing, she not only gave me a different room to use with working A/C while they were fixing the unit, she also bought me lunch for the inconvenience (which wasn't really an inconvenience at all) I would recomend this place to anyone!"
