"Stayed for two nights and enjoyed every moment of it! Just wish it had been warm enough to use the adorable pool. The hotel's redesign is beautiful and my room was spotless and very comfortable. I hate to see other reviews trying to scare folks off because of the neighborhood, because once you're at the motel you don't even notice where you are. I stayed by myself both nights and felt totally safe, especially with the security guard they had stationed at the front entrance in the evenings. They also had staff on-site 24/7 in case of any questions or concerns."

"Our room was the cleanest I have stayed in including rooms that cost two and three times the price of this room. SPOTLESS! On top of that the room was decorated perfect and the bed was extremely comfortable. Love the retro lights (on the wall and free standing). Small retro refrig in room perfect for drinks. While it was too cold to swim when we where there, the pool was very clean and inviting. They have a large indoor pool room area with chairs, couches, ping pong table, etc. perfect for playing games and hanging out. The lobby and lounge upstairs makes you feel like you are walking back in time to the 1960's. The amazing wood paneling, incredible long wood table and leather booths, I was swooning! Even though you can remote check in, make sure you pay the lobby/lounge a visit. The price to stay here is amazing and it was centrally located in Charleston. Someone in another review said the neighborhood was "sketchy", while that could be your opinion, I will tell you that we had no issues, felt safe, parking lot very lit at night and they have security. We will be back, this place is a rare GEM that you just don't see anymore because they are tearing them down. You must try this historic retro inn!!!"

"Amazing mid-century renovated motel. Modern rooms, immaculately clean, great pool, generous amenities, hoppin lounge, fantastic vibes. Only small recommendations would be the door to our bathroom wouldn’t stay open, and the door to the shower wouldn’t stay closed. Both sliding doors in an old building, we get it. Also, the vanity was cheap and once we turned the backlight on, it wouldn’t go off. Had to lift it off the wall a little to get it to turn off. Seriously, we’ll be back with friends and family, can’t WAIT for summer here."

"THE CUTEST KITSCHIEST LITTLE MOTEL IN NORTH CHARLESTON! What a great experience. Justin and Lisa made me feel right at home. It’s not in a great neighborhood, but I felt safe the whole time and it’s a very convenient location going to Charleston, the beaches, and getting on the highway. The rooms were super clean and everyone was determined to show me a good time and provide a great stay. I recommend this place to anyone looking for an off the beaten path, affordable, clean, and a super photogenic place to stay in the low country."

"I booked Starlight for my parents for the holidays, and we couldn't have been happier! The rooms were very nice with all the accommodations you could need. Perfect location in a new up and coming area of Charleston. But the best was the staff. From the bartenders at the Burgundy Lounge to the security guards and the GM, we were well taken care of for our entire stay. Highly recommend to all of those looking for the best value stay in Charleston!!"
